Some MultiVersus players are excited by the possibility that God of War’s Kratos could be on his way to WB’s crossover fighting game. While there haven’t been any official announcements to that effect, a recent Tweet from MultiVersus’ Creative Director Tony Huynh may hint at that possibility.Huynh recently released a cryptic Tweet saying "A literal dream came true for me today" and that he looks forward to sharing it with players once he can. The game’s creative director did not reveal anything beyond that, but some fans have noted that his phrasing is similar to an earlier tweet about the possibility of bringing God of War’s protagonist Kratos to MultiVersus.RELATED: MultiVersus Reveals Gizmo MovesBack in April, Twitter user CyberNinjaOwl shared fan art of Kratos in MultiVersus. Huynh retweeted the image saying, “This would be a dream.” He later replied to another fan, saying, “What I’ve found is that dreams don’t have a chance to come true without a lot of hard work.” Reddit user TheBestJackson noticed the word “dream” in Huynh’s more recent tweet and drew the connection with the Creative Director’s earlier comments.

This is far from a confirmation, as the Reddit post acknowledges. However, it’s not impossible that Kratos could make his way to MultiVersus. Tony Huynh worked on God of War 3 and God of War: Ascension and might still have enough friends at Sony to make the crossover happen. It’s also not as if Sony is particularly opposed to crossovers recently. Developers added Kratos to Fortnite in December 2020, with other Sony characters like Uncharted’s Nathan Drake and Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn arriving in later updates. Kratos also appeared in 2011’s Mortal Kombat reboot, which was published by Warner Bros.

Of course, there is still no hard evidence for a God of War and MultiVersus crossover. MultiVersus stands out for its odd combination of franchises, featuring characters like Batman and Scooby Doo’s Shaggy alongside Game of Thrones' Arya Stark. However, its roster so far only contains characters from other WB properties, and it’s unclear whether Warner Bros. would be interested in changing that. Some fans also questioned whether the crossover would be financially enticing enough for either company to commit to it.

Regardless, even if Kratos is coming to MultiVersus, it will likely be some time before developers are ready to announce his arrival. In the meantime, players will have to be content with the game's already confirmed DLC characters. Gremlins' Gizmo joins MultiVersus tomorrow, with fellow Gremlin Stripe and DC hero Black Atom reportedly on their way. And with a massive list of franchises under the WB umbrella, it’s also not as if the crossover fighting game is starved for potential new characters.

MultiVersus is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
