The newest update to MultiVersus has officially added Black Adam after seeing a short delay from his scheduled release last week. As the first season of the Warner Bros. crossover platform fighter marches on, developer Player First Games has brought plenty of new characters to the game. The recent Halloween event added the game's second Gremlins rep in Stripe and previous updates have introduced characters like fellow Gremlins character Gizmo and Rick and Morty's Rick Sanchez. Now, players can get their hands on the newest character from a currently airing movie.

Black Adam joins MultiVersus as the character's film adaptation recently hit theaters to a strong initial showing at the box office. Black Adam topped its debut weekend, beating out films like Halloween Ends, with estimates placing its debut earnings at around $67 million. The film has seen positive reception from both fans and critics with many praising Dwayne Johnson for his first role in DC's extended universe. Now, Black Adam is headed to MultiVersus as the platform fighter's newest character.

MultiVersus officially revealed Black Adam's arrival in the game on Monday with a brand-new trailer showcasing the character's various attacks. Black Adam comes to MultiVersus as a Bruiser character utilizing his lightning powers to shock enemies into submission. Black Adam also sports an electromagnetic force field and exceptional flying abilities, giving the character strong off-stage play as well as recovery. The MultiVersus release of Black Adam also features the "Comic Classic Black Adam" variant, losing his cape for a similar appearance to his comic book debut.

Black Adam comes as part of a growing roster of iconic DC superheroes and supervillains featured within MultiVersus. The crossover fighter already features several DC staples with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman included, with Harley Quinn as the game's lone supervillain. Leaks and datamines for future fighters have also suggested several other DC heroes and villains are on the way with Static Shock, Joker, Raven, and more rumored to be in development. Heroes like Beast Boy and Batman Beyond have also been popular requests from fans of the game.

Black Adam joins a MultiVersus roster that will surely continue to grow as the game's first season carries on. With regular content updates throughout the months since the game's launch, MultiVersus has given fans plenty of reasons to stick with the Warner Bros.-published fighter. Each passing month has typically brought multiple new characters to the game, as well as new arenas like the recently added Space Jam arena. Player First Games has also added an Arcade Mode to the game, as well as making balance changes and addressing issues with infinite loops.

MultiVersus is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
