Player First Games has announced that Black Adam's release in MultiVersus has been delayed. MultiVersus is on a hot streak with regard to new character releases over the past several months. Between Rick and Morty, Gizmo and Stripe, the first season of MultiVersus has seen the roster grow dramatically. That kind of pace can't be easy to manage, however, so it's only fair for Player First to need some extra time to work on Black Adam.Black Adam has been long confirmed as an upcoming character release for MultiVersus, and is perhaps the game's most highly anticipated since launch. Black Adam was one of two characters confirmed with the announcement of MultiVersus' Season 1's post-launch plans, alongside Stripe of Gremlins. It's understandable why Black Adam was so prominently featured, too, with the new Black Adam film starring The Rock now in theaters.RELATED: MultiVersus Fan Shares Fun Stripe Skin ConceptsUnfortunately, Black Adam's MultiVersus release will miss the start of the movie's availability in theaters. In a post shared on Twitter, the development team at Player First Games confirmed that Black Adam "is not quite ready" to be launched. A short video attacked to the message shows Black Adam in-game saying, "I am not ready to join your legions, yet." No additional information is provided, so it's unclear how big the delay is or when Black Adam will officially join the roster.

The previous plan for Black Adam was to release him "later this week," which would assumedly have been either October 27 or October 28. This was announced on Twitter, too, alongside confirmation that MultiVersus' Arcade Mode was launching this week as well. While there's no word regarding the status of Arcade Mode, it's assumedly been delayed alongside Black Adam so that Player First Games can release them together as part of a single major patch.

Odds are, Black Adam has only been delayed a week or so. Player First has done similar short delays in the past, including with Gremlins' Gizmo, though a longer delay is certainly possible if there are more complicated issues to deal with. If there were more serious issues, Player First would very likely have said so. That it said so little implies more of a hitch or some final touches that need to be addressed.

As for what comes after Black Adam, no one knows. Season 1 of MultiVersus is scheduled to end mid-November, so Player First is likely planning a big reveal soon with all of its plans for Season 2. Black Adam will hopefully still close out Season 1 strong.

MultiVersus is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
