While Ms. Marvel fans are still hoping the show hits Disney Plus later this year, it appears the showrunners still have some work to do before its launch. A new report claims that Ms. Marvel is going to undergo some "extensive" reshoots later this month, and that could lead to an even longer delay for its Disney Plus arrival.

Ms. Marvel shows the adventures of one of the MCU's newer superheroes in Kamala Khan. The Middle-Eastern character has a number of different powers, including some elasticity to her body that somewhat mimics Mr. Fantastic and the ability to increase her size quite a bit. The Ms. Marvel show was originally announced in 2020 and set for release in 2022, but numerous reports have claimed the Disney Plus series has been met with delays.

Comicbook.com has rounded up rumors from Atlanta Filming, Ms Marvel News, and My Cosmic Circus' Lizzie Hill about the reshoots and says that while it's too early to tell if this set of reshoots means that Ms. Marvel is going to get delayed further, the consensus is that there are some things the showrunners want to fine-tune. While it's not yet known just what these reshoots could entail, there are some guesses that the showrunners want to refine the scenes that are showing off Ms. Marvel's powers. There has been talk that those powers are going to be slightly different than what comic book fans are used to.

It could be that the Disney Plus show is further tweaking, or maybe even changing things back to be more consistent with what fans are used to seeing out of Ms. Marvel. While it may not have any impact on the show and how it depicts Kamala Khan, it is worth noting that video game players are also familiar with a certain set of powers thanks to Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers game. Kamala Khan is in fact the main character in that game's story mode.

The news of the extensive reshoots haven't been officially announced or confirmed by the Disney Plus series, so rumors about the work that still needs to be done should be taken with a grain of salt. What makes this news even more confounding is reports that production on Ms. Marvel actually completed shooting way back in May of last year.

Of course, the fact that shooting finished so long ago and the show still isn't expected until the end of the year at the earliest could indeed be signs that quite a bit more work needs to be done.

Ms. Marvel is currently in production for Disney Plus.
