The Netflix series Squid Game has taken the world by storm since its release back in September 2021, and streamers and YouTube creators around the world are scarmbling to capitalize on the show's incredible popularity. One of them, YouTube sensation MrBeast, is preparing to host what may be the biggest recreation of Squid Game on the internet, and he recently gave his fans a sneak peek at how the project is coming together.

MrBeast has been working on a real-life Squid Game--or rather, a real-life recreation of Squid Game--since October. While his recreation of the show's deadly game will differ from the fictional one in several important ways, such as the losers not being executed on sight with live firearms, it appears to capture the spirit of the contest.

Squid Game has made millions for Netflix in just a few months, so it may not be a surprise that MrBeast is preparing to host his version of the show next week. A recent post to his verified Twitter account showcases the sets he and his team are pulling together, each of which seems to be in-depth recreations of sets used in the series. He shared pictures of himself adding paint to the walls of the Red Light, Green Light challenge, sitting on the oversized swingset featured in the Dalgona game, and finally standing in a full-scale replica of the village shown in the marble challenge from Episode 6.

In the post's caption, MrBeast wishes the 456 contestants that will be competing in his version of Squid Game good luck, but the devilish smiling emoji attached suggests his goodwill isn't entirely sincere. This isn't the first time MrBeast has hosted a massive competition, though it might be the grandest he's put on so far. The accuracy of the replica sets appears to indicate that MrBeast is going for a complete recreation with his version of Squid Game rather than putting his own spin on the show. However, the exact details of how his Squid Game will play out are still unclear.

As of writing, it seems that MrBeast's fans are tentatively excited for the event, though several have complaints about the selection process to participate. One fan criticized the behind-the-scene images of his Squid Game replica, stating that MrBeast probably just grabbed the paintbrush for the photo op. Another fan expressed frustration that they were denied a chance to participate in the YouTube event due to not being vaccinated.
