Mr Beast's newest challenge might be his most ambitious yet, with $100,000 worth of gift cards being hidden within one of his Minecraft servers. The server, DreamSM, is a popular multiplayer server that is often used by streamers. Fans were invited to comb through the world to find the gift cards through a series of cryptic clues in Minecraft, 2020's most watch game on YouTube.
This contest was announced earlier today, with Mr Beast giving out details on how players could hunt down the gift cards. The first hint was for players to kill another user within the Minecraft world, after which they would then receive a private message from Karl Jacobs from Mr Beast's crew. As expected, the giveaway did not last long as streamer Tubbo was the first person to find where the gift cards were hidden a few hours after the event had started. While that sounds like a drawback, many of the gift cards will be handed out to the fans who tuned in to the event.
The gift cards include $10,000 for various places like Amazon, IKEA, Taco Bell, Best Buy, and GameStop, alongside $5,000 cards for Apple, Target, Walmart, and KFC. Finally, there are a number of $1,000 gift cards for stores like eBay, the Nintendo eShop, and the PlayStation Store. Fans will have to tune in to Tubbo's stream to find out how they can get their hands on one of these cards, which could potentially be used to purchase some of the best pieces of tech and hardware released in 2020.
It is certainly heartwarming to see a giveaway of this caliber from Mr Beast considering he was at the center of a controversy earlier this year when Tfue inadvertently leaked his phone number. Seeing YouTube icons pay it forward by gifting their fans only helps further push their image as someone to tune into.
There is no telling what kind of giveaway Mr Beast will do next, as the internet celebrity has done events as wacky as a $250,000 Rock Paper Scissors tournament for charity. Fans will have to keep an eye out for whatever interesting giveaway Mr Beast comes up with next.
