More details for MotorStorm Apocalypse have surfaced this week including major information of some in-game features and an estimated release date. Evolution Studios announced that the title will be releasing in Spring 2011 and that there will be a playable demo made available as well. The company also provided a new video trailer for the recently announced "Skyline" track

We first brought you news of "Skyline" last week, but many gamers may have missed this bit of information due to several large announcements in the gaming industry. The "Skyline" track literally takes the MotorStorm franchise to new heights and then drops players from a helicopter onto a collapsing building. See what we're talking about in the trailer:

This track looks intense and may require a high level of skill in order to secure a first-place finish. The developers claim this track can be completed by all vehicle classes, which wasn't readily apparent in the early screenshots. When viewing the trailer, it's clear there is room for full-sized vehicles - very little room. It will be interesting to see nothing but full-sized trucks racing on this track.

As far as new gameplay information, Evolution Studios stated that players will be able to unlock cosmetic and performance upgrades via a perk system and that new taunts are being added. A robust photo-editing mode will allow players to take high-resolution pictures, which then can be edited with built-in effects. While some PS3 exclusives are opting out of 3D support, Evolution Studios will have gamers racing through the post-apocalyptic landscape in stereoscopic 3D. The inclusion of this perk in MotorStorm Apocalypse will certainly be appreciated by early adopters, but is unlikely to be a selling point on its own as 3D televisions continue to be quite expensive.

Future DLC will be released via the PlayStation Network and Evolution Studios hinted there would be a free island track made available after the game's launch.

MotorStorm Apocalypse is scheduled to release in Spring 2011 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
