According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, EA's long rumored Iron Man game is in capable hands at Motive Studios, even though the title wasn't revealed this week at the Disney and Marvel Showcase as many hoped. Still, it was an exciting time for many Disney and Marvel fans as the latest showcase gave a glimpse into a number of upcoming games like a remastered version of Gargoyles, as well as a confirmation of Skydance New Media's secret project involving a World War 2 version of Captain America and Black Panther.

However, fan expectations were hopeful that some major Marvel and Star Wars projects would appear, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Star Wars: Jedi: Survivor, though, it seems Sony and EA have their own plans for them. However, new details surfaced over a few projects which missed the show thanks to insiders like Jeff Grubb who revealed upcoming plans for a few of EA's secretive Marvel related projects, such as the oft rumored Iron Man title.

Early in August, rumors surfaced regarding a new single player Iron Man title, but additional details were scarce. Following the no show at D23, Jeff Grubb attempted to fill in a couple of the gaps and seemed to indicate that Motive Studios is currently behind the Iron Man game. While EA Motive is currently putting the finishing touches on the Dead Space Remake, Grubb hinted that players likely won't be waiting too much longer to hear about the game officially, though the title appears to still be a long ways off.

In addition to Iron Man, Grubb followed his Tweet with a small update on EA's other Marvel project involving Black Panther. While details on the game continue to be very slim, Grubb revealed that there's a new team working on the game, though a good portion are made up of former developers who worked on Shadow of Mordor at WB and Monolith. While that could provide a unique opportunity to add in a sort of Nemesis Style system, Warner Bros placed a patent on it back in 2021, which means it is off limits to outside studios.

As for Sony and Insomniac's upcoming Marvel games, rumors continue to swirl around a potential State of Play sometime in September. Sony remains quiet on the possibility, but fans are hoping for a major E3 style showcase with major games getting shown off or revealed. Naturally, God of War: Ragnarok would likely be a major piece considering it's upcoming November launch, but fans are also hoping to see future titles like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as well as a new trailer for the upcoming Wolverine game. For now, fans continue to wait and hope for something to be announced soon.
