The term "Renaissance Man," harkening to an era in which a study of the arts and sciences was encouraged and celebrated, is termed as "a person with many talents or areas of knowledge." Such a title is truly befitting Terry Crews, who, as of today, has now demanded the localization of Mother 3, the followup to the 1995 JRPG known in the west as Earthbound.

Taking to Twitter, Crews put out a simple tweet that many gamers have echoed since Mother 3's release on the Game Boy Advance in 2006. While fans have taken the time to translate and mod ROMs of the game, the authentic game still resides only in Japan.

While there tends to be a chorus of JRPG fans screaming for the localization of the game, Crews stands as one of the bigger celebrity names to request such a motion. However, there remains hope for an English release of the game as the original Mother from 1989 was released on the Wii U worldwide in 2015 under the title Earthbound Beginnings. Fans such as Crews are most likely hoping for a shorter wait than 26 years.

Mother 3 has yet to make it to foreign shores. Both the original Mother and Mother 2/Earthbound have both made their way out of Japan. Earthbound continues to be heralded as one of the top JRPGs to be released. Mother 3 is supposed to take place a period of time after Earthbound, centering around the character Lucas trying to prevent invaders from destroying the world.

Crews' love for gaming is well documented, as he's been shown building his own gaming PC and playing games like Danganronpa with his son. Additionally, Crews was part of the voice talent for the game Crackdown 3, which utilized his likeness. Outside of gaming, Crews has starred in a number of movies, television shows, and commercials, and he was also a professional American football player. In his free time, he enjoys painting and playing the flute on top of gaming. He has also been a vocal part of the MeToo movement and has detailed his own sexual assault at the hands of a film executive.

Whether Terry Crews throwing his support behind the Mother 3 localization movement will have an effect stands to be determined. Fans have been asking Nintendo for years and have been returned with silence. While the fan translation exists, most players would prefer an actual release of the game overseas. Until then, Crews and everyone else will have to wait.
