Since its inception, the Pokemon series has been home to several locations that have garnered a lot of love from fans. From the eerie atmosphere of Lavender Town to the joyous settlement of Jubilife City, these places are sure to stick out in the minds of players for a myriad of reasons.

But out of all the places in the Pokemon series, only a select few can be said to stick out based on aesthetic alone. With nine generations of locations to go off of, it is hard to say which locations are breathtaking, but these places certainly fit the bill.

8 Lumiose City (Pokemon X and Y)

Located directly at the center of the Kalos region, Lumiose City is easily the largest city in terms of both population and area. With the Parisian theme as clear as day, the city blends both nature and civilization with its numerous plazas, avenues, and architecture.

Being a major city in the Kalos region, Lumiose City is naturally home to the Electric Gym Leader Clemont in addition to a few other battle institutions. Outside of battle, the player also has a slew of shops to frequent, including an expanded boutique, several unique cafés, and hair stylists for both the player and the oft-forgotten Pokemon Furfrou.

7 Ecruteak Dance Theater (Pokemon Heartgold and SoulSilver)

Ecruteak City is well known for its historic and traditional design which naturally extends to its resident dance theater. However, in contrast to the rest of the city, the Ecruteak Dance Theatre is far more lively and colorful; the color scheme even resembles the attire worn by the Kimono Girls.

When the player visits the theater for the first time, they must save a Kimono Girl that is being accosted by a Team Rocket Grunt. Later on in the game, all five Kimono Girls challenge the player in order to pass on the version-exclusive bell.

6 Malie Garden (Pokemon Sun and Moon)

Compared to the hustle and bustle of Malie City, Malie Garden is rather tranquil and serene in comparison. With a golden bridge and tower, a slew of lovely foliage filled with Alolan Pokemon, and a scenic view no matter where in the garden one goes, Malie Garden certainly gives players an exceptional first impression of Ula'ula Island.

The garden is said to be modeled off of the Johto region due to the presence of a tower similar to the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City. Although the garden is a popular tourist gathering, the presence of Team Skull and their leader Guzma serves to disrupt any peace of mind Trainers may have.

5 Floaroma Town (Pokemon Diamond and Pearl)

A town set between Jubilife City and Eterna City, Floaroma Town can easily be said to be the most beautiful town in the Sinnoh region due to the sheer abundance of flowers in the vicinity. It is here where the player can receive their first Honey, which can be slathered on special trees and thus attract wild Pokemon.

In-game, many people cite the sweet aroma of flowers and honey as the reason the town is so popular. Naturally, this makes Floaroma Town a very peaceful place, though this peace is disrupted when Team Galactic takes up residence at the nearby Valley Windworks and Floaroma Meadow.

4 Nimbasa City (Pokemon Black and White)

With an amusement park on the premises and lights that seem to shine on forever, there was no doubt that Nimbasa City would earn a spot on this list. Seemingly based on New York City's Coney Island, it is here in which the place can earn the Bolt Badge after defeating the resident Gym Leader Elesa.

Much like Lumiose City, Nimbasa City also boasts several minigames and battle facilities for the player, such as the Ferris Wheel and the Battle Subway. But regardless of what the player chooses to do, the flashy lights and action-packed atmosphere of Nimbasa City will be more than enough reason for the player to stay.

3 Seafoam Islands (Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee!)

Though the numerous puzzles and obstacles may trip many players up, the Seafoam Islands still remain a scenic location in their own right. The caverns inside the island are littered with several sturdy ice pillars and fast moving currents, making the islands difficult to traverse, but a nice sight for the eyes.

As a reward for completing the puzzles scattered throughout the island, the player may be able to catch the majestic Articuno, who challenges the player with shimmering shards of ice and an intense blizzard. But even this manages to contribute to the already elegant scenery within the Seafoam Islands.

2 Ballonlea (Pokemon Sword and Shield)

If one were to describe the settlement of Ballonlea in one word, it would be luminescent. With old English architecture and more glowing mushrooms than the eye can see, Ballonlea looks as though it came straight from either a fairy tale book or a scenic painting.

Contributing to the town's fairy tale aesthetic would be the Ballonlea Stadium, whose Gym Leader coincidentally specializes in the Fairy type. The only downside to this town is that there is only one way to access it: by traveling through the dimly lit, maze-like Glimwood Tangle.

1 Mesagoza (Pokemon Scarlet and Violet)

The centerpiece of the entire Paldea region, Mesagoza is a must-see location for any Trainer starting their journey. As the largest city in the region as well, Mesagoza is home to several notable landmarks within its provinces, the most important of which is the Naranja or Uva Academy.

What truly makes Mesagoza stand out, however, is its imposing and stunning architecture. Not only is the city decorated by colorful plants and buildings, but the structures in particular heavily resemble buildings seen in major cities in Spain, namely Madrid and Barcelona, thus contributing to the Spanish theme present in the Paldea region.
