The holiday season is right around the corner, which means gamers will be seeing plenty of games released in the next few months. While a few large titles that were expected to release in the fall of 2018 were delayed into 2019, such as Kingdom Hearts 3 and Anthem, several huge games are still set to launch in the coming months, so hopefully, no one feels disappointed by this year's lineup.

Below, readers will find what we here at Game Rant believed to be the most anticipated games of this coming fall. Furthermore, we have ordered this list by release date, so players can see what they can get their hands on first. While some games may be reserved as Christmas gifts or bought upon release, it definitely seems as if gamers are in for a real treat this year.

15 1. Destiny 2: Forsaken (Sept. 4)

The upcoming Forsaken DLC for Destiny 2 is first up on this list, as its launch is not too far away. This DLC sees a massive overhaul of the game, with the weapon system being reworked, random rolls for weapons returning, the Scorn appearing, new super abilities, and more. As players dive deep into the heart of the Awoken homeworld, The Dreaming City, it'll be interesting to see how this DLC shakes up the D2 experience. In fact, here are the best weapons players should get before Forsaken launches.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

14 2. Spider-Man (Sept. 7)

Everyone's favorite web-slinger is set to launch on the PS4 early next month, so there's no doubt about the hype surrounding this game. Considering the popular title has gone gold, it won't be long before players are facing some of the criminals of New York City, such as Mister Negative, Kingpin, Shocker, Rhino, and more! However, some allies should also appear, namely Miles Morales, Black Cat, and Silver Sable.

Spider-Man launches September 7, 2018, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

13 3. Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Sept. 14)

The latest entry in the Tomb Raider franchise sees Lara Croft traveling through Mesoamerica and South America. With the game set two months after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Croft faces a dangerous paramilitary known as Trinity, as she races to stop the Mayan Apocalypse. For those who need to sate their Tomb Raider needs before launch, it's worth mentioning that Tomb Raider Legend and Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary are both now backward compatible on Xbox One.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is set to launch on September 14, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

12 4. Mega Man 11 (Oct 2)

Mega Man 11 Announced for 2018

Mega Man 11 sees the return of the Blue Bomber, as he attempts to stop Dr. Wily from using a Double Gear system, which is unique to this game. It'll give Mega Man two special abilities, known as Speed Gear and Power Gear, each of which is pretty self-explanatory. To stop Dr. Wily, Mega Man will face a number of Robot Masters, such as Block Man, Blast Man, Fuse Man, and Torch Man.

Mega Man 11 is set to release on October 2, 2018, for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

11 5. Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Oct. 5)

While many believe the Assassin's Creed franchise has grown stagnant over the years, many would also argue that Origins corrected that course. Doubling down on that formula, Odyssey is likely looking to take that a step further, as this game introduces romantic interests, dialogue options, and character choice - each of which is a first for the franchise. While Origins did an awesome job of exploring Ancient Egypt's history and mythology, it'll be nice to see how Odyssey follows up, with this list being the mythological creatures we would like to see in the game.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is scheduled to launch on October 5, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

10 6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (Oct. 12)

The Black Ops series has been a staple of first-person shooters for some time, but with Black Ops 4, players are likely seeing the beloved series trying to redefine itself. While multiplayer and Zombies are still one of the main focuses, this title brings the increasing popular battle royale genre to the CoD franchise. Although gamers will have to wait until Oct. 12 to get their hands on the full game, here's when gamers can start the Blackout battle royale mode beta on PC and Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases October 12, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

9 7. Soul Calibur 6 (Oct. 19)

fall 2018 soul calibur 6

Soul Calibur is one of the most popular fighting franchises out there, and the same could be said about The Witcher in the RPG genre. Soul Calibur 6 brings the two together, as the Witcher himself, Geralt of Rivia, is set to be the guest character appearing in the game. Although a return to the Soul Calibur franchise alone is worthy of being hyped up, bringing Geralt along for the ride certainly doesn't hurt.

Soul Calibur 6 is set to release on October 19, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

8 8. Battlefield V (Oct. 19)

Battlefield is another franchise entering the battle royale genre this year, and the Open Beta data has recently been announced. Between the WW2-based story mode, the Grand Operations mode, and the battle royale mode, several players may very well sink some serious hours into this game this holiday season. Many players may also rejoice that EA DICE has confirmed loot boxes will be cosmetic-only, especially considering the controversy that surrounded another EA DICE title, Star Wars Battlefront II.

Battlefield V will release on October 19, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

7 9. Red Dead Redemption 2 (Oct. 26)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is likely at the top of many-a-players' wishlist, as the popular Rockstar franchise sees players return to the Wild West in the role of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Dutch Van der Linde gang. A recently released trailer also revealed that John, Abigail, and Jack Marston would play some role, however minor, in the game. Despite that, it also revealed many more aspects of the western title, 20 of which are detailed here.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to launch on October 26, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

6 10. Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Nov. 13)

Although it was originally intended to launch on Sept. 21, Spyro Reignited Trilogy has now filled the slate of Nov. 13. Barring any more delays, this trilogy delivers three remastered versions of Spyro for the gamer, namely Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Considering it's essentially a three-in-one, it's likely to be a good gift for nostalgic gamers this year, as a gameplay demo at E3 2018 revealed that the layout of each level remained the same.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is currently scheduled to launch on November 13, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

5 11. Fallout 76 (Nov. 14)

While Fallout 76 will be the first entry of the franchise to feature multiplayer, it is still likely to have a dedicated following with the fanbase. Set in West Virginia, players will emerge from Vault 76 and be set upon with the task of rebuilding America. What better way to spend the holiday season than in an apocalyptic wasteland?

Fallout 76 is set to launch on November 14, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

4 12. Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! (Nov. 16)

Like previous entries before them, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee have version exclusives that may have some influence over which title is ultimately chosen, though many choose by the mascot alone. These games are likely to be a top choice for young children and Pokemon diehards during the holiday season, especially considering the titles are compatible with the mobile ARG, Pokemon GO.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee release on November 16, 2018, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

3 13. Darksiders 3 (Nov. 27)

Although Darksiders 3 developer THQ Nordic skipped E3 2018 to watch the World Cup, the hype behind this forthcoming action-adventure title could not be more real. Taking on the role of Fury, gamers will face the Seven Deadly Sins by the order of the Charred Council, and hopefully, learn a little more lore about the Darksiders world.

Darksiders 3 launches November 27, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

2 14. Just Cause 4 (Dec. 4)

After gameplay footage revealed at E3 2018, it's understandable why many gamers may be hyped for the upcoming title Just Cause 4, which is in development by Avalanche Studios and will be published by Square Enix. Promising advanced AI and a thrilling open-world action-adventure experience, the players assume the role of Rico Rodriquez, as he adventures across Solis, a fictional South American Country, taking on a paramilitary group known as the Black Hand.

Just Cause 4 releases on December 4, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

1 15. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Dec. 7)

Considering Smash has yet to reveal every in-game character but already touts a rather impressive roster, this is another title likely to be popular this holiday season, especially because it's set closest to Christmas. With a couple of months left in the buildup in the game, players should keep an eye out for more news as it develops for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches December 7, 2018, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

While it remains to be seen how each game performs, some people are already placing bets. According to one analysis firm, Battlefield V will be beaten in sales by Red Dead 2 and Black Ops 4, but for now, it's still anyone's game. Tell us, Ranters, what game are you looking forward to the most? Anything that didn't make the list you think should have? Let us know in the comments!
