As one of the most notoriously vulgar fighting games currently on the market, Mortal Kombat X certainly didn’t let fans down upon its release. Outside of several issues experienced on the PC version of the game, the title immediately gave longtime followers of the series a myriad of gruesome Fatalities and skull-shattering maneuvers that stayed very true to the original’s premise.
The excitement has yet to die down for Mortal Kombat X either, as the studio responsible for the game has continued to supply fans with an ample amount of character and costume DLC. The latest character to join the fray was none other than the monster movie icon Predator, with all of its well-known weaponry and abilities in tow.
While gamers are still coming to terms with mastering that fighter, teasers for the next playable Kombatant, Tremor, have slowly been arriving. Now, according to Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, a formal showcase for the previously established warrior is set to happen this Sunday. Taking to Twitter, Boon more or less confirmed as much to the hordes of eager fight fans.
While fans are sure to know some of the techniques utilized by Tremor following his appearance in the PS Vita version of Mortal Kombat, this will mark the first time that the character has ever been featured alongside the main cast as a playable fighter on consoles. Since he’s a fan-favorite, the arrival of the earthly brawler is easily one of the most anticipated yet, and there’s little doubt that dedicated players will waste no time mastering Tremor as soon as humanly possible.
It’s true that gamers have already been given a brief glimpse of what Tremor’s Fatalities and Brutalities consist of, but they’ve yet to see these horrifying executions in action. It’s for this reason that Sunday, July 19, 2015 will be a day that many Mortal Kombat X players mark on their calendars, as Boon and his crew at NetherRealm Studios are sure to get down and dirty with the earth-shaking fighter.
Tremor’s imminent arrival will come as a bittersweet one for gamers, as he marks the last of the planned DLC for Mortal Kombat X. Boon has refused to rule out the possibility of another string of characters being released at some point, but as of this writing that’s not confirmed yet. In the end, it will all come down to how well the released DLC has sold, so only time will tell what awaits fans.
