Mortal Kombat X Players On Xbox One Having Issues Downloading Predator

Mortal Kombat X has seen a lot of success in the few months it’s been available to the public. The popular and violent fighting game has not only sold extremely well, the developers have done a good job keeping the game fresh with both paid and free content for players through the additions of costumes, characters, and other add-ons.

The third post-launch character to join the roster from the Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat X released to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC players yesterday. While most people seem to be having fun with the movie monster icon, Predator, Xbox One players may unfortunately be singing a different and frustrated tune today.

Social Media and various community driven sites like Reddit exploded with people reporting numerous unsuccessful attempts to download the Predator bundle on Xbox One once it became available yesterday. Reports indicated that players were either unable to download the character or after downloading, the character was still not appearing as part of the roster.

In a post on the official Mortal Kombat forums, community manager Tyler Lansdown confirmed that Xbox One Kombat Pack owners were currently seeing an issue trying to download the Predator bundle. No explanation was given for the problem, though he did mention that the team was looking into it and hopes to have a fix available as soon as possible.

“We’re aware that Xbox One owners who have purchased the Kombat Pack currently do not have access to the Mortal Kombat X Predator Bundle.  We are working to identify and fix the issue as soon as possible.  Thanks for your patience in this matter.”

This isn’t the first issue the popular fighting game has run into since its launch back in April. PC players were unfortunately met with a slew of issues on launch day, including crashing which was caused by certain critical files not being downloaded within Steam. More infamously, however, the PC version also saw a patch intended to fix issues, actually erase player save data instead – igniting a wave of backlash online. Thankfully, the game is stable at this point in time.

The title has also seen a number of glitches and character exploits over these past three months, including an infinite combo from Kitana’s Mournful variation. Players also discovered a way to quickly build up Kung Lao’s special meter by performing a wake-up teleport move, prompting officials at the Combo Breaker tournament to make a decision on the character’s usage at the event. So far NetherRealm Studios has done a good job quickly patching these exploits out of the game.

Mortal Kombat X is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. While previously given a tentative summer release window, no update has been released regarding the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions at this point.
