Without a doubt, fans of Mortal Kombat X have been patiently awaiting the upcoming inclusion of Predator to the brutal fighting game’s ever-expanding roster. So far, the famous action-horror creature from the ’80s has been teased more times than we can count. With Ed Boon recently Tweeting screenshots featuring the intergalactic hunter duking it out with Carl Weathers as Jax, and with images of the legendary Yautja’s character render having been leaked early on the Internet even further back, die-hards of NetherRealm Studios’ popular brawler are certainly frothing at the mouths to experience actual Predator gameplay.
Thankfully, those gamers antsy for an even more in-depth look at Predator in Mortal Kombat X are being rewarded by the Universe, as leaked in-game screenshots of the creature’s features have cropped up on the title’s official Reddit thread. The pictures come from user “grassisalwayspurpler”, and they display the contents of the Prey DLC Pack that not only show off the Predator’s fatalties, brutalities, variations, and gameplay, but also new skins for Johnny Cage, Scorpion, and of course, the Carl Weathers skin for Jax.
The stills seem to be a pretty comprehensive overview of what the Prey DLC Pack will bring to Mortal Kombat X, as the pictures show off most, if not all of Predator’s arsenal with its use of skin-searing lasers in the “If It Bleeds” brutality, as well as a fatality called “Certain Death”, which is an homage to the classic scene in the film in which the character Dillon gets his arm blasted off. Not to mention, the stealthy hunter’s famous Smart-Disc makes an appearance in Predator’s “Ghostin’ Us” fatality, as it’s lodged deep within Johnny Cage’s forehead in one of the photos.
While there’s no telling how the Reddit user got his or her hands on the screen caps, it’s definitely a win for Mortal Kombat X players who have been clamoring for any new information regarding Predator gameplay. Plus, Johnny Cage’s “Commando” costume and Scorpion’s “Infared” skin are sure to please fans looking for anything reminding them of the Yautja.
With this bevy of fresh content being offered up to the players of Mortal Kombat X, it’s obvious that NetherRealm Studios is looking to imbue the title with as much replay value as possible. For instance, the company has also provided a bunch of other cool DLC packages in the past, by including the iconic slasher from Crystal Lake, Jason Voorhees, as well as the franchise’s old-school character, Tanya. Should the game developers keep piling on the quality content in the future, fans of the fighter ought to be happy for quite some time.
Mortal Kombat X is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and the Prey DLC Pack featuring Predator will be released in July.
