NetherRealm Studios community specialist Tyler Lansdown confirms that the PC version of Mortal Kombat X will not be receiving the game's second set of DLC characters.

It looks like PC gamers have yet another reason to be angry with Mortal Kombat publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It's just been confirmed that Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X, which is set to include characters such as Leatherface and a Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, will not be releasing for the PC version of the game.

This news comes from NetherRealm community specialist Tyler Lansdown. He also confirmed that the recently announced Mortal Kombat XL, an enhanced version of the core Mortal Kombat X game that comes with all the previously released DLC, will only be releasing for consoles as well.

There wasn't a reason given as to why Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 will be exclusive to consoles. Perhaps the PC version of the game hasn't been as successful as the PS4 and Xbox One versions, which wouldn't be all that surprising considering Warner Bros. Interactive has given the PC gaming community little reason to support the company this past year.

As some may recall, the PC version of Mortal Kombat X was riddled with problems at launch, whereas console players enjoyed a much smoother experience. Fast forward to a couple months later, and Batman: Arkham Knight on PC launched completely broken, resulting in the game being pulled and refunds issued to those that purchased it.

The decision to keep Kombat Pack 2 out of the hands of PC gamers is likely to dig Warner Bros. an even deeper hole with the PC gaming community. Some of the steps taken after the Arkham Knight debacle made it seem as though the company was committed to winning back the favor of PC gamers, but this is likely to reverse any progress made to repair that particular relationship.

One way that the company may be able to smooth things over is by ensuring that the upcoming enhanced Mortal Kombat X online experience makes its way to the PC version also. While this seems unlikely, it would at least reassure PC gamers that Warner Bros. has forgotten about them completely.

Of course, it's also a possibility that this decision was made by the folks at NetherRealm Studios. However, considering the fact that Warner Bros. Interactive is the publisher of MKX, the more likely scenario is that the higher-ups there made the controversial decision to withhold Kombat Pack 2 from the PC version of the game.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game's second set of DLC characters will not be available for the PC version, unfortunately.
