The first Mortal Kombat film is not exactly in the same league as Apocalypse Now or Citizen Kane, but it does stand as one of the finest film adaptations of a video game. It is pure, unadulterated fun filled with fan service. Some still prefer it to the new film from 2021, though this new one also has its own strengths.

The original film came out in 1995, so we thought it a fun idea to see where all the actors are today and the last thing they performed in. It is a shame Mortal Kombat: Annihilation failed so hard, or else this cast might still be playing their roles from the first film.

Though Christopher Lambert was born in New York, he was raised in Geneva and established his career in European cinema. Most western audiences recognize him from Highlander and as Raiden in Mortal Kombat, but he never stopped playing in European films, mostly to French audiences. Christopher Lambert is also mostly blind without glasses and is unable to see without contacts, meaning any performance without glasses has him in scenes almost entirely without sight.

Sadly, Trevor Goddard passed away in 2003 and his last onscreen feature film performance was in the first Pirates of the Caribbean film.
