The warrior princess Kitana, one of the Mortal Kombat series' leading female characters, has been regularly teased as a returning fighter in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, having been leaked for the game ages ago and only making occasional appearances in advertising. As of today, though, we now have official Kitana Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay footage; specifically depicting her fighting the returning fan-favorite, D'Vorah, who is also making her MK 11 in-game debut.

For the most part, Kitana seems relatively unchanged from her previous appearances. While she no longer wears a mask (though she most likely will have the mask as a cosmetic option), she still wields her dual fans that she can throw like buzz-saws or use like knives. She can also use them to block projectiles, create miniature tornadoes, and can teleport about the stage (and apparently even attack opponents with her butt?). All in all, she seems to be a very versatile Mortal Kombat 11 fighter, though some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that she has some moves that belonged to her evil sister/clone Mileena.

This has led some to theorize that Mileena won't be making a return in Mortal Kombat 11. In the previous game's story mode, she was killed off by D'Vorah but, given the newest title's use of time-travel, there's a chance she could make a return. While it's unlikely that she'll be part of the main roster, there's always the possibility Mileena will be included as DLC, since there are still reportedly 11 Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters that have yet to be confirmed.

As for D'Vorah, she also has had little changes made to her visual design but fans of her will be no doubt pleased to finally see her in action, since she was confirmed two months ago and we're only now getting to see her in gameplay action. D'Vorah's insect move set was discussed recently by NetherRealm and the trailer shows off some of her new abilities, like trapping her opponents in webbing and even summoning a giant insect upon death to continue the fight on her behalf.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on April 23rd.
