The newest Mortal Kombat game is only a couple of weeks away from release, and fans everywhere are frothing at the mouth in anticipation. With all the characters, Fatalities, extra modes, unlockable goodies and secrets yet to be revealed all crammed into one game, players simply can’t wait to get their hands on what appears to be the bloodiest Mortal Kombat game yet.
Whether to keep fans satisfied until the game’s release, or to keep the hype machine going as long as possible, another trailer for the game was released. The video features Mortal Kombat veteran and movie star extraordinare, Johnny Cage.
In a fitting touch, this Mortal Kombat trailer acts like a trailer for a cheesy martial arts flick, starring Johnny Cage cast brilliantly as Johnny Cage. We get to see Johnny beat people to bloody pulps, toss out witty one-liners and just show off how incredibly rad he is.
Sit back and enjoy the trailer for Johnny’s newest release, Fight Dirty.
Sort of odd that it encourages viewers to fight dirty, but then again, considering Johnny Cage’s famed moveset, is it really a surprise? All in all, it seems as though Johnny hasn’t had any character traits changed for this reboot of the franchise. He’s still as cocky as ever, proudly proclaiming how he’s going to beat everyone in the tournament. And yet, he’s still charmingly funny while doing so.
We do get to see Johnny’s full X-Ray move, which we only saw part of before in the Mortal Kombat X-Ray video released in February. This, naturally, perfectly demonstrates the aforementioned “fight dirty” moniker, with multiple shots to the crotch before breaking his opponent’s back. Like all the X-Ray moves, completely brutal, but in a rather different sense than the others.
There are still a few questions left unanswered that this trailer doesn’t help with. What exactly is the story that takes place in this game? We know it’s supposed to be an alternate take on the first three games, but what exactly will be different? What is supposed to be found in the Krypt? Will co-op arcade mode be possible, or co-op tag team matches at all?
