This week has been one of the biggest weeks in gaming in quite awhile. With massive releases like Mortal Kombat and Portal 2, gamers have had to make some difficult choices as to which game to play first, especially considering the great reviews they're each receiving (Read our Mortal Kombat review and our Portal 2 review to see). Regardless of what you enjoy as a gamer, there's something here to keep you occupied until the next wave of big releases.

For those who enjoy their gaming with a little bit more disembowelment, Mortal Kombat is the obvious choice. Harkening back to the origins of the series, this latest iteration is an instant hit with extremely brutal gameplay and all the nostalgic flair you could ask for. Not only that, but developer NetherRealm Studios is committed to keeping the game balanced through new technology that doesn't even require a patch. Still, with all the news, that doesn't change the fact that Mortal Kombat is and always will be all about the fatalities.

Over the past two weeks, we've given you our thoughts on what we think are the ten best and worst fatalities. Now, it seems that someone on YouTube has posted almost every single fatality, save for those from the watered-down Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe and the most recent game into one convenient video. Check it out below in all its violent goodness!

Not only is the video crammed full of nostalgia for fans who have been with the series from the very beginning, but it also illustrates just how much the game and violence in games has evolved over time. Back when the first Mortal Kombat released, it was criticized for its levels of violence, but looking back at it today, it seems like child's play. As the years have passed, the violence has slowly escalated, becoming more and more over-the-top with each release. For a series that was build on the grounds of being so violent, this is understandable though, because with each subsequent release, it's as if NetherRealm Studios are expected to somehow one-up themselves and bring the game to a new level of violent.

Regardless, this new addition to the series, while arguably the most violent yet, sees it returning to what everyone originally loved about Mortal Kombat and for that reason alone, it's bound to be a hit.

Have you picked up Mortal Kombat yet? Which is your favorite fatality from across the series?
