The cast of Mortal Kombat is united in their bloodlust, meaning a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with the characters would definitely be a brutal affair. It wouldn't be the most role-play heavy campaign, though it would probably make Tomb of Annihilation look like a children's bedtime story. But which classes would the group of murderous melee fighters actually create?

10 Scorpion - Fighter/Monk

mortal kombat 11 makes controversial scorpion change

Scorpion couldn't decide on just one class and while making his character went on a rant about wanting to play an "emulation" of himself. He started out as a Fighter with a soldier background, but slowly added levels in monk without any real explanation. His character is driven almost exclusively by revenge, though he has shared some weirdly tender moments with NPCs.

9 Raiden - Wizard

Raiden keeps muttering actual spells while playing and disrupting the entire table. It isn't clear if he's actually doing it on accident, or if he's trying to change his rolls thinking the DM won't notice. Raiden thinks that being a Wizard automatically qualifies him as the most powerful character at the table, but he's also rolling super well so it's reinforcing the idea in his head.

8 Bo’ Rai Cho - Monk

bo rai cho

Bo' Rai Cho convinced the DM to let him use a homebrew feat that gives him bonuses when he's drunk. There was a miscommunication though, and he meant himself, not his character. He keeps showing up to sessions completely hammered, but it does make his character's dialogue pretty entertaining. One time, he puked on the battle map once and refused to pay for a new one. The snacks at the table usually cover up the smell, but anyone that whiffs closely can still smell the vomit on it.

7 Skarlet - Warlock

skarlet

Skarlet has always considered herself more of a Pathfinder person, but she hasn't found a group willing to play anything other than 5e since she moved for a new job opportunity. Her first character was a Wizard, but she wasn't really into it and swore of casters for a little bit. She was going to try and play Sorcerer this time around, but everyone else in her group decided to play goody-two-shoes characters and she thought a demon worshipper would spice things up a bit.

6 Jax - Paladin

jax

No one else was willing to play a character with survivability, so Jax took it upon himself to try and keep everyone protected. He's annoyed that n0 one else is starting with an AC higher than 11, but he still begrudgingly heals every time Raiden leaps onto the front line as a Wizard and is immediately knocked unconscious.

5 Liu Kang - Eldritch Knight Fighter

Liu Kang was raised thinking that Dungeons and Dragons is only for Satanists, and took a lot of convincing to actually want to play. The Fighter's martial prowess really appealed to him, and he wasn't sure he could win a fight without some type of magic so he decided to go down the path of the Eldritch Knight.

4 Johnny Cage- Bard

Johnny Cage immediately tries to sleep his way through every issue in the campaign. He dumped pretty much all of his points into Charisma, and the rest of the party is kinda starting to want to kick him out. The DM has been texting him on the side to lay off, but he keeps doing the same thing over and over. It's pretty much gotten to the point where Jax won't even heal him anymore.

3 Kano - Rogue

kano

Kano keeps the fact that he plays D&D a closely guarded secret. One time, another member of Black Dragon caught him with a D20 in his pocket, and they still mess with him about it. It consumes most of his free time though, so he really doesn't care that much. He plays the same character pretty much every time, but with slightly different backstories.

2 Kitana - Weird Homebrew Class

kitana

Kitana spent all weekend researching special homebrew classes before deciding to try and make her own. There are a ton of characters she's taking influence from, and the general character design is actually turning out pretty well. She still hasn't run it by the DM though, so there's no telling whether she'll actually be able to play it.

1 Goro - Barbarian

goro

Goro actually created a Druid, but he kept trying to get on the front lines to smack things, so the DM quietly replaced his character sheet without him realizing it. He also named his character Goro, and refused to play anything other than a four-armed half-giant, which was weird for a druid but the DM decided to let it slide so that Goro wouldn't rip his spine from his back.

The Mortal Kombat campaign players really hate the idea of role-playing, so it's pretty much just the DM shepherding them from combat encounter to combat encounter with some pretty bad narrative bits in between. All the finishing moves the characters describe are graphically detailed, and the Dungeon Master is considering going back to therapy because of it. Still, it has been cool to see the characters slowly bond over some good old fashioned dice throwing.
