A little over two weeks ago, Mortal Kombat 11 Patch 1.07 changed almost every single character on the MK11 roster. While some of the fighters tweaked by the Mortal Kombat 11 balance patch were changed only slightly, others received notable buffs and nerfs. As such, a new post-patch MK11 tier list must be established, and fighting game extraordinaire Dominique "SonicFox" McLean has taken a stab at one.

In this new Mortal Kombat 11 tier list, fans will see that many characters have shifted when compared to SonicFox's MK 11 tier list from the end of May. SonicFox now lists the best Mortal Kombat 11 characters as Nightwolf, Liu Kang, Cetrion, Jax, Sonya, and Skarlet. Of these six MK11 characters, Liu Kang, Cetrion, and Jax have all moved up from the A+/A tiers that they were assigned to on the previous SonicFox Mortal Kombat 11 tier list.

The rise of these fighters is complimented by the fall of others in this ranking of the best MK11 characters. More specifically, Geras, Jacqui, Kabal, Cassie, Baraka, Erron, and Scorpion have all moved down from the S tier in this Patch 1.07 Mortal Kombat 11 tier list. Furthermore, this ranking suggests that Scorpion is the character that has been hit the hardest by the patch, and indeed there was a controversial nerf made to Scorpion in MK 11 Patch 1.07.

While not quite making the S tier, Frost, Johnny Cage, and D'Vorah all see bumps in this new Mortal Kombat 11 tier list, which is sensible considering that Frost and D'Vorah received some of the most pronounced buffs in the MK11 balance patch. That said, SonicFox has actually downgraded both Shao and Kotal Kahn to the bottom of the tier list, despite the fact that they seemed to receive relative improvements with MK11 Patch 1.07.

Additionally, Kollector sits alongside Shao and Kotal, staying down in the B tier he was relegated to by the last SonicFox tier list. As with the Kahns, Kollector appeared to get some notable improvements in the MK11 character balance patch, but it seems that SonicFox does not believe they were enough to put him in the running for best MK11 character.

While it may seem obvious, it is important to note that the MK11 character balance patch is still relatively new, and it is possible that this tier list will see a significant revision in short order. That said, it should at least provide an idea of  where Mortal Kombat 11 may be headed, and it is offered by a player that certainly has no shortage of impressive results, giving some amount of credence to this ranking.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
