With Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath's action-packed story campaign landing back in May, fans are likely wondering what's next for NetherRealm's most recent dive into its legendary fighting franchise. Naturally, many have turned their attention to the likelihood of new roster members, with a leak from the DLC's files seeming to refer to character interactions including Sektor, a fighter not currently in the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.

However, it seems NetherRealm has some fun additions to implement for current roster members before it considers introducing any new ones, with the studio recently announcing some brand new skin packs. The first of these new additions will be available in just a few weeks' time, with the Summer Heat Skin Pack hitting Mortal Kombat 11 on August 6.

The pack also reveals the trio of skins that will be included within it, with Baraka, Erron Black, and Kitana all getting hilarious, summer-themed makeovers. Kitana switches out her deadly princess warrior outfit for a summer dress and large sun hat, with NetherRealm dubbing the new attire "Endless Summer Kitana." Erron Black, on the other hand, sports a red, white, and blue suit, with his roguish cowboy hat switched out for a colorful stars and stripes themed top hat.  This striking attire is known as "Fireworks Erron Black." Baraka perhaps takes the cake for the funniest of the three, however, with the fiendish demon sporting a large chef hat, a brown apron, some equipment tailor-made for a delicious BBQ, and some sausages draped over his shoulder. Netherealm named this amusing outfit "Off the Bone Baraka."

The three outfits will be available with the Mortal Kombat: Aftermath DLC, so those who have already opted into the major piece of additional content can look forward to unlocking the Summer Heat Skin Pack next Thursday. That's not all though, as NetherRealm also revealed two new skin bundles that will be joining the game very soon. The first of these will be the Klassic Femme Fatale pack, which will make its way to the game on August 25, while the All Hallows' Eve Pack will hit on October 8. All in all, it looks like players can expect some fantastic new skins over the next few months.

In other NetherRealm related news, recent tweets seem to hint that something Injustice related could be coming soon, with comic book author Tom Taylor revealing some teasing images related to the franchise. While this is almost certainly a new comic and nothing video game related, fans of NetherRealm's fantastic DC fighting series should prep themselves for what's bound to be another exciting entry in the Injustice universe.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
