In what is rapidly becoming a tradition with games starting from Mortal Kombat 9 onwards, Mortal Kombat 11 has brought in guest fighters from outside the franchise who are steeped in as much blood as the mainline cast. Ever since the announcement that the next of these guest characters was Spawn from Todd McFarlane's series of the same name, players have been clamoring for details about him.

There has already been a star-studded lineup in the first Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 11, both in terms of returning characters like Shang Tsung and brand new crossovers like The Joker. The latest announcement regarding Spawn revealed when and where players will finally be able to get a look at how he plays in the game proper.

Spawn's official gameplay trailer will take place at Final Kombat 2020, the official eSports Mortal Kombat 11 championship to determine the greatest players in the world, held on March 8th. Those watching the event at home will be able to see the trailer at the same time as attendees, as it will be live streamed at the same time. The gameplay trailer will show off some of Spawn's move-set and unique gimmicks, and, hopefully, some alternate costumes as well. Spawn's base design in the game has already been revealed thanks to an action figure direct from McFarlane Toys.

Spawn's gameplay reveal will not be the only treat for players tuning in to or attending the event, as several figures associated with either Mortal Kombat or Spawn will be attending to answer questions. Todd McFarlane, the comic series' creator will be in attendance, as will Keith David, the voice actor for the animated Spawn television show. Keith David will be reprising his role as Spawn in Mortal Kombat 11, making him the second DLC fighter voice actor returning to an old role, the first being Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played Shang Tsung in the original Mortal Kombat movie.

Many pro players at the event will no doubt be sizing up Spawn's attacks to determine his power level as compared to the other fighters. Being a DLC fighter, players will have to keep a close eye on possible power creep, although given his story, it would not be out of character for Spawn to turn out to be one of the strongest Mortal Kombat characters.

More casual players will no doubt be interested in the powers that Spawn brings to the table, since he has such a wide range of them to draw on besides his primary weapon in Mortal Kombat 11. His suit is extremely malleable, allowing him to manifest chains and massive, prehensile capes, on top of using his favored firearms and a few magic spells for good measure. Hopefully a little bit of everything makes it into the game.
