Mortal Kombat 11 fans are expecting a new trailer for the dark Empress Sindel to drop soon, especially as her release date draws near. In the past, a trailer has released within two weeks of the official date, meaning fans should expecting this sometime around the 12th of November, but this doesn't stop the teases. Now, Ed Boon has release a new image of Sindel alongside a cryptic one-liner, potentially teasing the forthcoming Mortal Kombat 11 trailer.

For those not in the know, Mortal Kombat 11's Ed Boon has a notorious reputation for teasing and trolling fans. For Sindel, Ed Boon's new image of the Empress shows a close up of her face. Her scars are evident, her eyes are close, and the detail is incredibly. It's accompanied by the phrase "Mortal Sin," which could be the name of a Mortal Kombat 11 Brutality or a Fatality of the Empress soon. It's also quite possible that it's something unrelated or even teases her paler-than-normal complexion.

Either way, given its proximity to the standard release window of a Mortal Kombat 11 trailer, it seems fans should know more about the Empress soon. This may be a huge point for fans of the character, too. Recently, it was confirmed that she was retconned and turned from a benevolent Queen forced into the service of evil after lossing her place and husband in Edenia into a power hungry Empress. Her new bio suggests Sindel betrayed her husband, King Jerrod, and her people to keep a position of power, willingly becoming the wife and Empress of Shao Kahn.

If, and how, this affects her release remains to be seen, but based on images of Sindel released so far, it seems likely that fans shouldn't expect her to suddenly become a heroine. In Mortal Kombat 11, she appears to truly be a villain.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
