Ever since Mortal Kombat 11 co-creator Ed Boon spoiled Sindel's DLC back in July, people have been clamoring for news of the Queen. Everyone wondered if she would continue to be evil in this timeline, or if anything would change her back to the good guy she was long ago. Well, the date of her DLC's release is now upon us; those who purchased the Kombat Pack will get access to Sindel starting November 26th. Then she'll be released on Earthrealm again, and Mortal Kombat 11 fans are excited.

Sindel's Backstory

Originally the good Queen of Edenia who sacrificed herself for her daughter, Katana, Sindel is now one the most evil characters in the MK universe. Although the retcon of Sindel's character has been controversial, her back story shows how truly evil this timeline's version of Sindel really is, as she willingly betrayed her first husband and Edenia to marry Shao Kahn for his power.

The story line of Mortal Kombat 11 is all about different converging timelines, and this timeline's Sindel shows us her worst side. She is deeply evil, killing her second husband or daughter without any remorse. Much of her selfish and self-centered ways are on full display in this collection of all her intro scenes.

When Sindel is not demanding that her opponent drop to their knees and worship her, she's making advances on Johnny Cage or belittling her own husband, Shao Kahn. Her attitude, as reflected in these intros, makes Sindel a very easy character to love.

Sindel's Brutalities

Brutalities are finishing moves that are performed before the end of the match, killing the opponent outright, usually before the announcer even gets to tell the fighter to "Finish Him." They were first seen in the home port of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 all the way back in 1995. Sindel has several Brutalities that have been spoiled, each more gruesome than the last. Here are all the different ones seen around the web this week as spoilers come pouring in:

All of Sindel's Brutalities really celebrate everything about her character and all the fan-favorite abilities. An additional Brutality not seen above is in the next video, after the Fatal Blow and Fatalities.

Fatalities and Fatal Blow

Sindel has always been known for the power of her screams and her hair's ability to tear people limb from limb. Sindel's new Fatalities, however, really drive those points home by being excruciatingly violent. The first Fatality shows the true power of her Banshee Scream, tearing the flesh from her enemies and leaving them in unidentifiable pieces. The second uses her hair to tear them apart from inside out, splitting their her opponent's body into pieces.

Her Fatal Blow is a little different; players finally get to see Sindel make use of her weapon, pinning her prey to the ground through the mouth with her blade. Then she slams her heel into their eye in an explosion of gore. Check those out in this video:

Clothes, Crowns, and Hair

The Queen of Outworld may have lost her way morally, but she's still as stylish as ever. With all her new gear pieces and skins, Sindel has a massive variety of hairstyles, crowns, outfits, boots, and looks. The video below details the massive number of choices that players will have with Sindel's look, her intro animation, her outro animation, and more.

This along with the Gothic Horror Skin Pack that will be released on the 26th as well will give fans tons of options to chose from for Sindel, and other characters appearance.

Sindel's Standard Moves and Abilities

Between her Banshee cries and wicked hair, Sindel is not an opponent anyone would want to mess with. Mortal Kombat 11 has taken all of Sindel's classic attacks and made them even more violent. All MK11 characters have a weapon, but Sindel has never been seen with one before. She doesn't really need one considering her voice can flay the skin and her hair can drag opponents to their deaths.

But players will now how a range of moves for Sindel in MK11 with a bladed spear called a kwan dao. Along with her normal kicks, blocks,  screams, and hair attacks, players will now be able to use her expanding kwan dao to bring opponents to their knees.

While it's not too terribly exciting to see these moves just written down on paper, Sindel's gameplay trailer really brings them to life. Be warned that the video below does contain serious SPOILERS.

These moves show quite a good balance between short-range and mid-range attacks. Her hands and feet work quite well at short range, as well as a few good screams right to the face of her opponent. Her kwan dao and hair are for longer ranged attacks; the spear-like blade stabbing at a distance while her hair is used to pick up, drop, and stop enemies in their tracks. There's a fan-favorite combo where Sindel stabs her opponent with the kwan dao, pulling them along the blade's handle with her hair until they are within screaming distance.

Also included in that last video is Sindel's winning Story Ending Video. In many of her intros, Sindel snaps at her opponents to fall to their knees or demands tribute from them, giving players a hint to how awful the realms will be underneath her incredibly dangerous boots. This foreshadows what's to come, and while that won't be discussed here, it can be seen in the above video.

While some fans may miss the good Sindel, it's really hard not to love her as she is now. Between her insatiable lust for power and her gory finishing moves, there's a lot to love about this evil version of Sindel.

Sindel will be available November 26th for anyone who has ordered the Kombat Pack (Mortal Kombat 11's version of a season pass), and will be available for purchase a la carte on December 3rd for everyone else (as well as the Gothic Horror Skin Pack). Along with the Queen, the Joker and Spawn are also upcoming DLC, projected to be released in January and March of next year.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One,  and Google Stadia.
