Shortly following Mortal Kombat 11's reveal during The Game Awards 2018, it was confirmed that the forthcoming fighting game would be including a recurring character and antagonist of the franchise by having Shao Kahn as a pre-order bonus fighter. Now, with the next sequel in the long-running series set to debut soon, NetherRealm Studios has decided to give potential players a look at some Shao Kahn gameplay and a fatality of his.

In Mortal Kombat 11's gameplay reveal trailer for Shao Kahn, fans can get a look at the brutal warlord using his huge stature to dish out an absolute beat down on opponents such as Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kotal Kahn. What's more is that those who stick around to the end can watch Shao Kahn deliver a fatality using his gigantic war hammer that bashes Raiden's dome in so thoroughly that the thunder god's head is knocked out through the back of his body.

With Mortal Kombat 11 featuring a rather extensive custom gear system, it's worth noting that the version of Shao Kahn seen in his gameplay and fatality reveal trailer will not be the only costume that players will be able have him wear in the forthcoming fighting game. As a matter of fact, a retail listing for MK11’s Premium Edition detailing the title's Kombat Pass featured a Shao Kahn in-game render that depicted him in a full set of armor.

For those who haven't been keeping up with MK11's development cycle up until now, Shao Kahn's gameplay and fatality reveal trailer may have those out of the loop hankering for some more in-game action. Thankfully, NetherRealm Studios has already released plenty of pieces of footage thus far, including an Mortal Kombat 11 fatality trailer detailing several of the playable characters' deadly finishing moves.

All things considered, Shao Kahn's arrival on the scene in his gameplay and fatality trailer will likely incentivize plenty of fans of the fighting game franchise to pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 so as to secure him as a playable character in the sequel's roster. Thankfully, it won't be too much longer before players can get their hands on the title and give the once-Emperor of Outworld a go.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
