The big Kommunity Reveal event for Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to take place on January 17, but some details on what the event has in store for fans may have leaked ahead of time. In a since-removed post on Reddit, user eon95 leaked the game's cover art, and then revealed further details about the upcoming game, including its apparent inclusion of Ronda Rousey on the roster as Sonya Blade.

Apparently speaking to The Nerd Mag through private messages, eon95 revealed a slew of information about Mortal Kombat 11 and its upcoming Kommunity Reveal on January 17. According to the leak, Ronda Rousey will appear at the event, alongside a hype trailer for Sonya Blade that will reveal Rousey as the voice for Sonya. It's unclear if Sonya's appearance will be changed to match Rousey's, or if Rousey herself will be included as a playable character in any form, however.

While we always recommend fans take rumors with a grain of salt, this particular one actually has a bit more legitimacy than most. eon95 provided screenshots of leaked internal emails from NetherRealm Studios, which is where the information came from. Furthermore, the box art that eon95 posted on Reddit turned out to be the real deal, lending further credibility to the other claims.

Luckily, Mortal Kombat 11 fans won't have to wait long to find out if there is any truth to eon95's claims about the game. As previously stated, the Kommunity Reveal event is scheduled to take place on January 17, which is just one week away, and it's then that we should find out if Ronda Rousey is actually going to be involved with the game or not.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if the Kommunity Reveal event also confirms some other rumors that have been floating around about the upcoming fighting game. NetherRealm has already denied the legitimacy of a supposedly leaked roster, but it has yet to comment on if some of the rumored guest characters, like comic book character Spawn, for instance.

More information on Mortal Kombat 11, including potential guest characters like Spawn and guest stars like Ronda Rousey, should come next Thursday, January 17 during the Kommunity Reveal event.

Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on April 23 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
