Mortal Kombat 11 recently pulled the curtain back on its Aftermath DLC expansion, which is set to add new story content to the popular fighting game alongside three DLC characters. Among the new Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighters is RoboCop, and it's now been confirmed exactly who will be providing the voice for RoboCop in the game.

Mortal Kombat 11 game director Ed Boon has confirmed on Twitter that Peter Weller will be voicing RoboCop in Mortal Kombat 11. For the uninitiated, Weller portrayed RoboCop in the original 1987 movie as well as the 1990 sequel RoboCop 2. Weller previously returned to the RoboCop role for the 2014 mobile game Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, but this is the first time that Weller has played RoboCop in a serious role in 30 years. Needless to say, this should be a significant moment for fans of the RoboCop franchise as well as Mortal Kombat 11.

Besides Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff and Mortal Kombat 11, Peter Weller has provided voice work for another video game project. The well-received 2017 virtual reality horror game Wilson's Heart also featured Peter Weller's voice, with Weller taking on the role of title character Robert Wilson.

With the confirmation that Mortal Kombat 11 is featuring RoboCop, it seems as though some of the DLC character leaks were true. However, there are still other Mortal Kombat 11 DLC leaks that have yet to be confirmed. Perhaps the biggest is the leak that claimed Ash Williams from Evil Dead would be coming to the game, but that no longer seems to be the case. Dataminers have found evidence that Ash was meant to be in Mortal Kombat 11 at some point, though it seems as though the deal must have fell through for one reason or another. Then again, it's possible Ash is still coming to Mortal Kombat 11 eventually, but fans will just have to wait a bit longer.

In the meantime, RoboCop will be joined by two other previously leaked characters when the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion launches on May 26. Mortal Kombat fans can look forward to adding Fujin and Sheeva to their roster later this month.

The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion may very well be the last major content update that MK11 gets, but if so, the game is going out with a bang. Along with DLC characters and new story content, fans will also be able to get their hands on classic Mortal Kombat stages re-imagined for the new game, the Friendship feature, and much more.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath launches on May 26 for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
