With the recent release of the long-awaited Spawn DLCMortal Kombat 11 is rumored to be announcing its second Kombat Pack soon. Nothing official has been announced, but dataminers have been digging through the game's latest update, fueling rumors about which characters could be included in the second Kombat Pack.

Since the first Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack featured multiple guest characters in the form of The Terminator, The Joker, and Spawn, it's assumed that Kombat Pack 2 will have some guest characters as well. The latest rumor is that one such guest character will be none other than RoboCop. It's unclear exactly how this rumor started, but a new discovery in the MK11 update files has added fuel to the fire.

A character named as "ROB" in the Mortal Kombat 11 files has been discovered, listed right before other rumored DLC character SheevaMortal Kombat 11 game files reference characters by the first three letters of their name, and so it could very well be short for RoboCop, especially as there are no original Mortal Kombat characters that fit the bill.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the Mortal Kombat 11 developers are using "ROB" to just be short for "robot." For example, Cyrax and Sektor are both cyborgs that appear in the Mortal Kombat 11 story but aren't playable in the game itself, so it's possible Kombat Pack 2 will make them playable and "ROB" references one of them.

It should be stressed that all of this is just speculation at this time. There is no concrete evidence of RoboCop coming to Mortal Kombat 11 like there is for Ash Williams from Army of Darkness, and NetherRealm has not even confirmed that Kombat Pack 2 exists at all. Considering this, Mortal Kombat 11 fans should certainly keep their expectations in check, as it's quite possible that RoboCop is not coming to the game.

Even if RoboCop isn't coming to Mortal Kombat 11, though, fans can still expect NetherRealm to release more content for the popular fighting game. Mortal Kombat 11 game director Ed Boon has already teased that there are more surprises in store for MK 11, and while that could mean almost anything, it seems likely that he's referring to new characters. More should be revealed in the coming months.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
