Mortal Kombat 11 just released a new update that added some Halloween skins to the popular fighting game. Dataminers wasted no time digging through the files for the latest Mortal Kombat 11 update, potentially discovering three new DLC characters in the process.

First and foremost, it appears as though Rambo, as in the character from the Sylvester Stallone movies, is going to be added to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC. This would definitely fit the game's theme of adding 80s icons as guest characters, with Rambo fitting in nicely alongside The Terminator and RoboCop. According to dataminer thethiny, who leaked a lot of this information, there will be plenty of gear for players to outfit Rambo with as well.

The other two DLC characters leaked for Mortal Kombat 11 include Rain, who has been teased by game director Ed Boon, and shockingly, Mileena. Mileena has been one of the most-requested DLC characters since Mortal Kombat 11 launched, but it seemed as though NetherRealm had no interest in adding her to the roster. In fact, Ed Boon has been actively trolling Mileena fans on Twitter about her absence from the game, and so many have given up on the possibility. But if this leak is accurate, then it looks like Mileena will indeed be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 at some point in the near future.

Unfortunately, it's unclear when this DLC will be made available, if it ever even releases. While datamining efforts are usually pretty accurate, especially when it comes to leaking new Mortal Kombat 11 content, there have been instances in the past where they were incorrect or included outdated information. The most notorious example is probably the Evil Dead Ash Williams DLC that had been heavily rumored to be in the works for the game, with evidence for it even found by dataminers, only for nothing to ever actually materialize.

With this mind, it's entirely possible that the latest Mortal Kombat 11 DLC leak won't amount to anything, but if it does, perhaps it will be used to promote a new release of the game. Dataminers found that these characters are labeled as "GOTY2," possibly indicating a new version of MK11 that would presumably come with the base game, these new characters, and the previously-released Aftermath expansion.

Re-releasing Mortal Kombat 11 for a second time would normally seem like a strange move, but it would make sense if this new version of the game is for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The next-generation consoles provide a perfect opportunity for Ed Boon and company to re-release MK11, and the inclusion of new DLC characters could be enough to convince some fans to double-dip. However, all of this is just speculation at this time, and fans should keep their expectations in check until an official announcement comes from NetherRealm or Warner Bros. Interactive.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
