Mortal Kombat 11 has so far only added one DLC character to the game in the form of Shang Tsung, and Kombat Pack owners are eagerly anticipating the next character in the lineup. We've known for some time that Nightwolf will be the second DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11, but we haven't quite been sure when he would be added to the game. And though NetherRealm has yet to offer an official release date for the character, it seems the Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf release date has leaked ahead of time.

Nintendo's website posted an advertisement for Mortal Kombat 11 that said Kombat Pack owners could get early access to Nightwolf on August 13. The site has since been updated to remove the release date reference, but it seems safe for Kombat Pack owners to circle that date on their calendars. Assuming the early access release date for Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat 11 is August 13 as leaked, then that would mean everyone else would likely be able to get the character beginning August 20.

It's quite likely that this leaked Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf release date is accurate. For one, August 13 and August 20 are both Tuesdays, which is when new DLC and games are typically released. Secondly, these dates are right after the EVO 2019 fighting game tournament, which is scheduled to take place from August 2 to August 4.

mortal kombat 11 nightwolf dlc release date leaked

There is a precedent for fighting game companies to make big announcements at EVO, and so it wouldn't be all that surprising if NetherRealm announced the Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf release date at the event. Combine the timing with the fact that the source of the leak is Nintendo itself, and it seems that the Nightwolf release date will in fact be August 13 for Kombat Pack owners and August 20 for everyone else.

Of course, there's always the possibility that the leaked release date for Nightwolf is inaccurate. Maybe whoever added that information to Nintendo's website was mistaken, or maybe NetherRealm's release date plans for the character will change. We caution fans to take this news with a grain of salt until NetherRealm itself offers official release date details for Nightwolf or any of the other Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
