NetherRealm's newest iteration of the Mortal Kombat franchise has proven to be very popular with fans, with many considering it to be one of the best in the series. And while Smash Bros. Ultimate may have set the precedent of releasing with every character in the series' history, Mortal Kombat 11 is steadily rolling characters out through DLC, after first giving fans some healthy teases.

Ed Boon, the creative director at MK developer NeatherRealm Studios, has been releasing teaser images of upcoming characters for quite some time now, even posting an image of Sindel just a few days ago. Now, Boon has released an image of Night Wolf, who will soon be making his way to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. Night Wolf has made appearances in many Mortal Kombat games, starting with Mortal Kombat 3 back in 1995, and is considered to be a fan favorite by many.

Boon had previously teased the character with an image of his tomahawk, a weapon that is pretty much synonymous with Night Wolf as far as Mortal Kombat is concerned. Fans still haven't seen the character in action quite yet, but he appears to be incredibly detailed, based on how good the image looks.

There are still plenty of DLC characters to come, too, so players that aren't necessarily fans of Night Wolf shouldn't have too much to worry about. Convincing leaks of a Terminator DLC fighter have surfaced online as of late, and there have also been rumors of Ash from Evil Dead or The Joker making their way into the game. As of now, those characters are only rumored, but at least NetherRealm seems committed to continuing to support their game.

There's still no word on when Night Wolf will actually be playable in the game, but hopefully, it won't be too much longer. Night Wolf's fatalities have been relatively tame compared to many of the other characters in past Mortal Kombat games, but it'll be interesting to see what the developers cook up this time around. Hopefully, they still include a decent amount of spectral tomahawk.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
