While Mortal Kombat 11 has earned mostly high review scores, the game has also experienced its fair share of criticism. For example, there were some fans who were disappointed with the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, as their favorite character didn't make the cut for whatever reason. One of the most controversial exclusions on the Mortal Kombat 11 roster is Mileena, and while she still isn't confirmed as a DLC character, game director Ed Boon has taken to Twitter recently to tease fans who want to see her added to the game.

Boon re-tweeted an image of one of his past tweets, except most of the words were blacked out so that the only visible letters spell "mileena." With this tweet, Boon is not only teasing fans who want to see Mileena DLC for Mortal Kombat 11, but he also appears to be poking fun at the various conspiracy theorist articles and YouTube videos that like to analyze his social media posts for clues about future DLC characters.

While Mileena could certainly come to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC at some point, no one should take Boon's tweet as a serious tease for the character. If anything, this tweet makes it seem even less likely that Mileena will ever be added to the game.

For those not in the know, there is a storyline reason for why Mileena is not in Mortal Kombat 11. Mileena was actually killed off in Mortal Kombat X, and her death is brought up by characters like Shao Kahn and Kitana in the Mortal Kombat 11 story mode. In fact, one of Kitana's move sets actually borrows heavily from Mileena's fighting style, which seems to have upset some Mileena fans even more.

Of course, it's worth pointing out that Mortal Kombat 11's story actually makes the "she was killed off" excuse for not including Mileena look pretty flimsy. Mortal Kombat 11 is all about time travel, and it already features killed-off characters. Since there is a plot reason for Mileena to return despite her death, some fans are still holding out hope that they will see her added as DLC.

Whether or not Mileena ever comes to Mortal Kombat 11 is anyone's guess. Right now it seems unlikely, but since we don't know almost any of the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters definitively, anything can happen.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
