Mortal Kombat 11 has continued to see tremendous post-launch support from NetherRealm Studios. The Aftermath expansion released earlier this year saw a wealth of new content for the fighter including not only new characters like Fujin, Sheeva, and Robocop, but new story DLC, which is a first for the series. Now it seems like more character content is on the way to the game if one dataminer is to be believed.

Besides the release of the Aftermath DLC, Mortal Kombat 11 has also seen a plethora of content in the form of various skin packs. Earlier this month, NetherRealm Studios released the Summer Heat Skin Pack, which gave Baraka, Erron Black, and Kitana some love with new summer-themed designs.

However, this new information from dataminer @thethiny on Twitter is much bigger than a skin pack if it proves to be true. The dataminer seemed to be teasing that fan-favorite Mileena could be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in some upcoming DLC. This would be huge considering that Mileena's absence from the game has been a point of contention in the Mortal Kombat community since the game launched last April.

Mortal Kombat 11's creative director, Ed Boon, is completely aware of fans' desires for Mileena to be in the game. Fans will often tweet at Boon demanding that the warrior princess be added to the game, only for Boon to respond and troll them with images of Mileena holding a gun or other funny images.

In an interview with Game Informer shortly before Aftermath's release, Boon took the time to address why classic Mortal Kombat characters like Mileena and Reptile haven't been added to the game. In the interview, he discussed how the fighting game franchise has a diverse roster of over 80 characters but many of them have not been playable in a long time. The decision to include Fujin in Aftermath as opposed to Mileena or any of the other staple characters in the franchise was made to avoid the game feeling stale.

Despite the constant trolling by Ed Boon, this information seems to line up with a recent rumor for a currently unannounced Kombat Pack 3. According to someone claiming to work for NetherRealm Studios on Reddit, Kombat Pack 3 will have three male Mortal Kombat characters and one female guest character. At the end of their post, they also noted that internal discussions at the studio were taking place as to whether or not Mileena could make an appearance as a playable character.

It's still too early to tell whether or not Mileena will actually make her way into the game as a fully playable character, however, players may find out sooner rather than later. Ed Boon will be making an appearance at the DC Fandome event later this week, causing many players to wonder if a Mortal Kombat 11 related announcement could be made at the event. It seems like players will just have to tune in to the event and see if any of these rumors turn out to be true.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
