Mortal Kombat 11 has a number of different game modes for players to dive into, but one of the more unique modes is the Krypt. The Krypt is a dungeon filled with treasure chests that Mortal Kombat 11 players can open using Koins (obtained just by playing the various game modes) to gain the treasures inside. These chests sometimes even have character gear and alternate skins, making them very valuable for Mortal Kombat 11 completionists.
Besides using Koins to unlock chests, Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt explorers can obtain two other kinds of currency as well in the form of Hearts and Souls Fragments. To get Hearts, Mortal Kombat 11 players need to destroy bodies in the Krypt using the Spear of Hanzo Hasahi or they can do Fatalities in matches in other game modes.
Soul Fragments, meanwhile, are acquired by playing different game modes and by exploring the Krypt. To use Soul Fragments to open chests, players first need to get their hands on Ermac's Soul Amulet.
Ermac's Soul Amulet, the Spear of Hanzo Hasahi, and Shao Kahn's Hammer are some of the main key items to find in the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt, so here is where to find them and all the others.
1. Shao Kahn's Hammer
Shao Kahn's Hammer is the easiest key item to find in the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt. Shao Kahn's Hammer is used to destroy walls, doors, skeletons, pots, and more. Players will find it as soon as they enter the Krypt.
2. Gem of the Living
North from the Krypt's outdoor area, players will find statues of some of the game's characters, including Raiden. Go beyond the statues and then a scene will play where a meteorite destroys the Raiden statue. Use Shao Kahn's Hammer on the meteorite to get the Gem of the Living, which is used to get the next key item.
3. Cracked Horn of the Motaro
With the Gem of the Living in tow, visit Kronika's Time Vault. Use the Gem of the Living to open the door here, and then go underground. Unlock the gate to find the Cracked Horn of the Motaro.
4. Ermac's Soul Amulet
Since Ermac's Soul Amulet is used to open the green chests in the Krypt, it's definitely one of the more important key items that Mortal Kombat 11 players can collect in the game. To get it, return to the outdoor area, and unlock the western door to reach Goro's Lair. Explore Goro's Lair until coming upon a large dining hall, and then check the corner for a chain to pull. Pull the chain, watch the subsequent cut-scene, and then go to the impaled man to collect Ermac's Soul Amulet.
5. Spear of Hanzo Hasahi
Visit the Armory in Goro's Lair, and examine the pillar with a line of fire through it to find the Spear of Hanzo Hasahi, aka Scorpion's Spear.
