Way back in January, NetherRealm Studios revealed a special skin for Skarlet in Mortal Kombat 11 called the Kold War Skarlet skin. It was a continuation of Cold War-era Russia skins that NetherRealm released for Mortal Kombat X, and its designed has proven to be quite popular with fans. Unfortunately, the Kold War Skarlet skin in Mortal Kombat 11 is very difficult for fans of the game to get their hands on, even months after the fighting game's release.

The Kold War Skarlet skin in Mortal Kombat 11 was a pre-order bonus for those in Russia, though it was also available through some Amazon pre-orders. Unless fans get their hands on a copy of the game with one of these codes, they can't unlock Kold War Skarlet in Mortal Kombat 11. Usually fighting games make these pre-order bonus exclusive items available for individual purchase, so there's still hope that Kold War Skarlet will one day be available to the masses.

Alternatively, NetherRealm may bundle the Kold War Skarlet skin with some other skins. This is what the company is doing with the skins in the Mortal Kombat 11 Gothic Horror Skin Pack, which is being released alongside new character Sindel on November 26 for Kombat Pass Owners. Perhaps there will be a Cold War skin pack for Mortal Kombat 11 that includes Kold War Skarlet, though that remains to be seen.

Some Mortal Kombat 11 fans may not be concerned with skins, but are more interested in new characters. As previously mentioned, Sindel is coming to Mortal Kombat 11 on November 26 for Kombat Pass owners, and then the Joker DLC will be available on January 28. From there, Mortal Kombat 11 fans can expect Spawn to come to the game on March 17. It's expected that NetherRealm will release more Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters after this, but that hasn't been confirmed at the time of this writing.

Many are anticipating Mortal Kombat 11 to have a Kombat Pack 2, which will be made up of supposedly leaked characters that have yet to make it to the game. This includes the likes of Evil Dead's Ash, Sheeva, and Fujin. Again, Kombat Pack 2 hasn't even been officially announced yet, so fans should keep their expectations in check.

More on upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters should come to light in the coming months. In the meantime, fans can keep their fingers crossed that Kold War Skarlet will get added to the game for everyone to buy sooner rather than later.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version launching on November 19.
