Not too long ago, Mortal Kombat 11's trophy list leaked mentioning Kitana as a playable character in the forthcoming fighting game from NetherRealm Studios, but the developer had yet to officially reveal her as a roster member. Now, the company has released a brand new TV spot that confirms Kitana as a fighter in the title, with an actress depicting her in a choreographed live-action fight scene.

In the official TV spot for Mortal Kombat 11, Kitana is pitted against Scorpion, the latter of whom many consider to be the face of the fighting game franchise at this point in time. After all, his visage has graced the majority of the game's key pieces of art thus far. What's more is that Mortal Kombat 11's Kollector's Edition comes with a Scorpion mask.

During the official live-action ad for Mortal Kombat 11, Kitana wields her iconic steel fan blades, and chucks one at Scorpion, only to have him deflect it with a metal wrist gauntlet as she fearlessly runs toward him. In quick response to the attack, Scorpion throws out his chained Kunai to spear Kitana, but she deftly avoids the weapon, with the two engaging in fisticuffs thereafter. Of course, with this being a TV spot, blood and gore is nonexistent, and nary a Mortal Kombat 11 fatality can be seen.

For those unaware, the confirmation of Kitana as a roster member for the latest entry in NetherRealm Studios' long-running fighting game franchise comes shortly after the developer revealed Mortal Kombat 11's newest character The Kollector. While The Kollector's move set was on display during his reveal, Kitana has yet to have any of her abilities shown off with gameplay. With this being the case, perhaps she will get her own highlight trailer soon enough.

All things considered, it's safe to presume that many players looking forward to Mortal Kombat 11 will be delighted at the prospect of playing as Kitana and seeing how NetherRealm Studios has adapted her abilities for the latest entry in the franchise. Thankfully, they won't have to wait too much longer to find out, with MK11 set to debut toward the end of this month.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
