Mortal Kombat 11's next DLC character, the Joker, is set to release in early access on January 28, which means that fans now have just under two weeks to wait before getting their hands on this brand new fighter. In preface of the Joker's release, Mortal Kombat 11 director and series co-creator Ed Boon has shared a new teaser image of the forthcoming MK11 DLC character, and he has also commented on when the Joker's gameplay trailer will finally be released.

More specifically, Boon indicates that the Mortal Kombat 11 Joker gameplay trailer is "coming soon," and fans should thus expect it to arrive in a matter of days. For reference, the gameplay trailers for the previously-released Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, the Terminator, and Sindel, all came between seven and 18 days prior to the fighter's availability in game, and this trend may mean that the Joker's trailer will be revealed no later than next Tuesday, January 21.

With respect to what will be featured in the MK11 Joker gameplay trailer, it is customary for these videos to give fans their first look at a character's combat prowess. Indeed, players should walk away from the trailer with a fairly solid understanding of what type of fighter the Joker is in Mortal Kombat 11, and they should also glean some details on specific combos and moves that he has at his disposal.

Additionally, the trailer will almost certainly show off the Joker's Mortal Kombat 11 Fatal Blow as well as one of his Fatalities, one of his intros, and one of his victory poses. While none of this will give players a sense of how the Joker actually plays in MK11, many fans will still be very happy to see these more cosmetic aspects of the character, and the reveal of a brand new Fatality is always quite exciting indeed.

Following the release of the Joker's gameplay trailer, fans should also expect a Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Kast to do a deep dive into the character before his early access launch. This will be a good opportunity for fans that have not purchased the MK11 Kombat Pack to decide if they wish to buy the Joker separately, which they will be able to do beginning February 4.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
