As Mortal Kombat 11 barrels toward its eventual release, more and more of its roster is becoming known. It was recently confirmed that Jade would appear on the roster of the gory fighting game franchise's latest installment, and now it seems as if Johnny Cage will be joining her as well.

It's worth mentioning how many teases, roster leaks, and more have surrounded the latest fighting title. There was a major roster leak recently that suggested Erron Black and perhaps even Rain could be making appearances in the game, but perhaps most notable is the rumor that Stryker will appear in the latest installment voiced by WWE superstar John Cena. Only time will tell for these Mortal Kombat characters, but this recent Johnny Cage tease seemingly all but confirms his addition.

Creative director of Mortal Kombat 11 Ed Boon recently shared an image that looks like Cage flipping off some competition, with the caption: "Who hired this guy....WTF?" Furthermore, this tease is accompanied by the hashtag #MortalKombat11, thereby suggesting Cage will return in Mortal Kombat 11. With this particular brand of humor, it's hardpressed to think of anyone else this could be.

This shouldn't likely surprise anyone since Cage has appeared in almost every Mortal Kombat game starting with the first. His return to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster will likely be well-received, considering the character matured quickly by the time of Mortal Kombat X, so it'll be interesting to see where Johnny Cage goes next.

Hopefully, as Mortal Kombat 11 nears launch, we will continue to learn more about the roster, as many are still holding out for their personal favorites, but we know one requested character that will not appear in the game. Despite the popularity of the meme and the rapid growth of the petition, the developer did give out a solid confirmation that Shaggy will not appear in this gory fighting game.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
