Shortly after the release of Mortal Kombat 11 back in April, fans discovered audio within the game files that pointed to a hidden Johnny Cage announcer voice. Since this discovery, players have been trying to determine exactly how to unlock the Johnny Cage announcer voice in Mortal Kombat 11, but their attempts have been unsuccessful thus far. However, Mortal Kombat 11 Patch 1.07 has just gone live for those playing on PS4 and Xbox One, and this update has made it possible to obtain the special announcer voice.

For clarity, a Mortal Kombat 11 announcer voice refers to the voiceover that is heard when a player selects a character or stage, and it is also present at the beginning and end of a match. By default, the announcer voice is set to Klassic, and this can be changed from within the audio settings to any other announcer voice that has been unlocked. Prior to the recently released MK11 Johnny Cage announcer voice, the only options aside from Klassic were Shao Khan and Kronika.

How to Unlock Johnny Cage Announcer Voice in Mortal Kombat 11

Now that Patch 1.07 is live, unlocking the Johnny Cage announcer voice in MK11 is quite straightforward, and it requires participation in the Towers of Time game mode. Every time a player completes one of the Towers of Time in Mortal Kombat 11, they receive a score, and the highest scores that they earn for each Tower are combined to generate a total score. This total Tower score is then compared to other players' total scores, in what is called Race Against Time, and rewards are granted based on relative performance.

For example, a fan that places within the top 99% of players in Race Against Time will receive 50,000 Koins, while someone that places in the top 5% will earn something like a Mortal Kombat 11 character skin. A player's position in Race Against Time at the end of the week determines the reward they receive, and rewards are changed every week.

With that established, the way to unlock the Mortal Kombat 11 Johnny Cage announcer voice is to finish within the top 10% of players in Race Against Time, and it is indicated that this announcer voice will be a reward every week moving forward. Players that want the MK11 Johnny Cage announcer voice will thus need to put some effort towards the Towers of Time, and they can check their estimated position in Race Against Time by way of their Kombat Kard.

To note, fans have also discovered audio indicating that a Mortal Kombat 11 Raiden announcer voice may be headed to the game as well. However, until that arrives, fans will have to make do with the newly available Johnny Cage announcer in MK11.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
