Thanks to Mortal Kombat 11's street date being broken, we've known for about a week now that Frost is the sole unlockable character in NetherRealm's upcoming fighting game. Now NetherRealm itself has officially revealed Frost for Mortal Kombat 11, releasing a new gameplay trailer that shows Frost in a fight against Sub-Zero.

The new Mortal Kombat 11 Frost gameplay trailer gives fans their best look yet at the ice cold killer in action. In the fight, we see Frost use her Fatal Blows and standard ice-based attacks, as well as her Fatality. Frost's Fatality in Mortal Kombat 11, like other Fatalities in the game, is pretty clever and brutal; at first, she freezes her opponent with an ice beam, then removes their brain, placing it and its stem inside of a new robot body.

Speaking of robot bodies, Frost appears to be a cyborg of some kind in Mortal Kombat 11. In Frost's intro scene, her head is literally put into place on her body by a machine. Frost is also able to detach her head, roll it on the ground, and then blow it up to freeze her opponents.

So far, it seems as though Mortal Kombat 11 fans are responding positively to Frost. Few were expecting her to make the cut for the final roster, and so including her in the game as an unlockable character was a nice surprise. Those impressed by the Mortal Kombat 11 Frost gameplay trailer may be wondering how they will be able to unlock her in the game when it launches tomorrow, and luckily, unlocking Frost sounds pretty straightforward.

To unlock Frost in Mortal Kombat 11, players have two options at their disposal. One, they can purchase her with real money, or two, they can unlock her by playing through the story mode. According to past leaks, Mortal Kombat 11 players can unlock Frost in Story Mode by beating Chapter 4.

As the sole unlockable character in Mortal Kombat 11, it will be interesting to see how quickly Frost is adopted by the community. It seems likely that a decent portion of Mortal Kombat 11 players will focus only on multiplayer and therefore may never unlock Frost, so it's possible she won't be as common in online matches as some of the game's other characters. With Mortal Kombat 11 set to launch in just a few hours time, we shouldn't have to wait long to see how fans react to Frost.

Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on April 23 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
