Mortal Kombat 11's first DLC character was Shang Tsung, having released to the masses a couple of weeks back. Now that fans have had the chance to master Shang Tsung's unique move-set, they are looking forward to the next DLC character. And while we still don't have an official confirmation, a recent tweet by Ed Boon does seem to suggest that the next DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11 is none other than Nightwolf.

Ed Boon posted an image on Twitter of what appears to be Nightwolf's axe. We don't get a good look at Nightwolf himself, but it does appear as though the character is getting ready for a fight. Boon posted the image with the caption "And now a taste of things to kome..." which has fueled speculation that Nightwolf will in fact be the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character.

If Nightwolf is the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character, then we may have an idea of the release order of the rest of the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters as well. That's because at the end of the Shang Tsung DLC trailer, we see Nightwolf's name pop up, followed by Sindel, and then Spawn. If these names are in release order instead of simply alphabetical order, it would seem as though Sindel will be the third Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character, with Spawn the fourth DLC character, and the remaining two guest fighters finishing off the Kombat Pack 1 lineup.

As for who the final two guest characters are for Mortal Kombat 11's Kombat Pack 1, there's been a lot of speculation about their identities. Most of the evidence points to Ash from Evil Dead and The Terminator being the final two guest fighters for Mortal Kombat 11, but there are other possibilities as well. Datamining efforts have shown that The Joker from DC Comics could also be in consideration for a Mortal Kombat 11 DLC guest fighter, for example.

Of course, it's likely that NetherRealm will release more Kombat Packs that will include their own DLC guest fighters, so perhaps The Joker is being saved for them. Ultimately, we won't know for sure until Ed Boon decides to share more information, and so Mortal Kombat 11 fans will just have to keep guessing until then.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
