E3 2019 proves to be a roller coaster of ups and downs every year, which was apparently the case for Shane Satterfield whose car was stolen from the prestigious gaming show. However, Satterfield got the backing of the entire Mortal Kombat 11 community after creative director Ed Boon put an MK11 DLC character reveal on the table as a reward for helping find the stolen car.

On June 13, the final day of E3 2019, Satterfield's black Nissan 370Z was stolen between 9:15 AM to 11:30 AM. It was parked near a Starbucks about a block and a half away from the convention center, and prior to revealing the theft, Satterfield confirmed that it wasn't towed. Boon then promised to reveal one of the remaining DLC characters if the Mortal Kombat 11 community helped Satterfield find his car, and Satterfield and his wife found the vehicle around 10 PM that night.

Satterfield reports some stolen items such as an old iPod but is just glad to have received his car back. The thieves seemingly parked it not far from where it was stolen, likely due to the public searching for the vehicle, which allowed Satterfield to recover his car. There are a ton of unknowns about the situation, but one to be asked now (since the car is safe) is if the Mortal Kombat 11 community contributed to finding Satterfield's vehicle.

Public pressure may be what ultimately led to the thieves ditching the vehicle, but since that cannot be proven and Satterfield did not suggest that he was tipped off by a Mortal Kombat 11 player, it could be that Ed Boon doesn't reveal the character. On the other hand, the car has been found and the community was enthusiastic about helping Satterfield out, so an MK11 character DLC announcement could be imminent — perhaps as early as Monday.

If Ed Boon decides to announce another DLC character, it could add or remove legitimacy from the Mortal Kombat 11 rumor of Doomslayer joining the roster, but until the next DLC character is officially revealed, that remains to be seen.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, and is in development for Stadia.
