Previously, Reddit user eon95 accurately leaked the box art for the upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 11, and then proceeded to send some extra details to online publication The Nerd Mag. Perhaps the biggest piece of information from this potential leak, stemming from leaked internal emails at NetherRealm Studios, was that Ronda Rousey will voice Sonya Blade in the game. However, that's not the only exciting revelation from the leaked emails.

The emails also point to a playable demo for Mortal Kombat 11 coming this week, apparently during the reveal event on January 17. Specific platforms for this supposed demo weren't revealed in the leak, but one has to imagine that it would be for most of the systems Mortal Kombat 11 is in development for, if not all of them.

As revealed when Mortal Kombat 11 was originally announced at The Game Awards 2018, the game will be available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. The game's Switch release has come as somewhat of a surprise, but it's worth pointing out that NetherRealm has a history of releasing multiple versions of its games. In recent years, NetherRealm has released smaller-scale versions of its games on mobile devices, and it's possible the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 may get a similar treatment.

mortal kombat 11 switch delay

Of course, that's just speculation at this time. It's possible that the Switch version will be basically the same as versions of the game on other platforms, but with slightly downgraded graphics. Ultimately, fans will just have to wait and see, though it should noted that the Switch version could be delayed, so their wait may be a bit longer than expected.

More information on a potential Switch delay for Mortal Kombat 11 should come during the reveal event on January 17, which will also confirm or deny this supposed leak. Since the box art leak turned out to be real, this leaked information does have more credibility than most other video game leaks, but fans should still take it with a grain of salt just to be safe.

Mortal Kombat 11's reveal event will take place on January 17, and should give fans their first proper look at the upcoming fighting game. Whether or not the event includes an announcement for a playable demo remains to be seen, however.

Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on April 23 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
