Ever since the first Mortal Kombat 11 beta was datamined, Ash Williams from Evil Dead has been rumored to be a DLC character for the game. However, Ash actor Bruce Campbell denied the rumors, stating specifically that "Evil Dead's Ash" will not be DLC. Now it appears Campbell was telling the truth, but Ash is still coming to Mortal Kombat 11. A new leak points to not Evil Dead's Ash as Mortal Kombat 11 DLC, but rather the version of Ash as seen in Army of Darkness.

Some new Mortal Kombat 11 advertisements for the Spawn DLC have included a blurb in the copyright section about Ash from Army of Darkness coming as DLC. While it's possible that this is a mistake or that these have been faked somehow, it's worth pointing out that it's not the only evidence that Ash is indeed coming to Mortal Kombat 11 at some point as a  DLC fighter.

As previously mentioned, Ash was originally found in the Mortal Kombat 11 game files by dataminers. At some point, NetherRealm Studios update the game and removed any reference to Ash, but the latest Mortal Kombat 11 update appears to have added that data back into the game. This is still not an official confirmation from NetherRealm, but the evidence is starting to pile up that Ash is coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in some capacity.

Dataminers have also found evidence that other rumored DLC characters that were previously removed from the game files have also made their way back into the game. Apparently, files for Sheeva and Fujin are once again in Mortal Kombat 11's game files, which could be an indication that the long-rumored Kombat Pack 2 is finally close to being announced.

It would make sense for NetherRealm Studios to pull the curtain back on the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 now, as it has finished releasing all of the characters promised by the first Kombat Pack with Spawn's recent release. Plus, Mortal Kombat 11 game director Ed Boon has promised more surprises, which many have already assumed is in reference to more DLC characters for the game.

With most major public gaming events canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it's unclear when an announcement for more Mortal Kombat 11 DLC would be made, but hopefully NetherRealm Studios will have more to share sooner rather than later.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
