Prior to Mortal Kombat 11's launch, datamining efforts potentially leaked the game's entire roster of DLC characters. This included guest characters like Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise, whose chainsaw arm and proficiency with sawed-off shotguns make him a perfect fit for the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. Fans hoping to see Ash Williams in Mortal Kombat 11 had their hopes dashed when Ash actor Bruce Campbell himself denied the rumors on Twitter, but it seems that he may have just been teasing fans all along.

NetherRealm Studios recently released a trailer for the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 that mostly focused on showcasing Shang Tsung's abilities. The end of the trailer revealed the other characters coming to Mortal Kombat 11 as part of Kombat Pack 1, which includes the likes of Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn. However, the end of the trailer has fans buzzing, as it seems to be teasing that Ash Williams is one of the two remaining guest fighters coming to the game.

At the end of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 trailer, fans can hear a chainsaw revving and see blood splatter the screen. Since Ash famously has a chainsaw for a hand, many have taken this as an official tease that he is coming to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.

Of course, some fans may point out that Ash is far from the only pop culture character associated with chainsaws, and in fact, Mortal Kombat X had its own chainsaw-wielding maniac in the form of Leatherface. However, a follow-up tweet from Bruce Campbell has more or less confirmed that MK11 is indeed teasing Ash Williams DLC.

If Ash Williams is an upcoming guest fighter for Mortal Kombat 11, that still leaves one guest fighter spot open for Kombat Pack 1. If the past Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighter leak is real, then that means the third guest fighter is likely to be the Joker from DC Comics. With a standalone Joker film coming in October, it would make sense for the Crown Prince of Crime to be added to Mortal Kombat 11 as a way to promote the film.

Mortal Kombat 11 fans can look forward to the rest of the DLC fighters being revealed in the coming months.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
