On May 26, NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat 11 is set to get a big expansion in the form of the Aftermath DLC. Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will include plenty of paid content, but it will also add new features for all MK11 players, regardless of whether or not they purchase the expansion. One such feature is the return of Friendships, and now NetherRealm has released a new trailer revealing the Friendships for various members of the MK11 roster.

The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Friendships trailer shows Friendships for a variety of the characters in the game, including popular DLC character The Terminator and franchise mainstay Scorpion. Not all of the MK11 Friendships can be seen in the trailer, but it does offer fans their most extensive look at the Friendships feature since its announcement.

Some of the more notable Mortal Kombat 11 Friendships shown in the new Aftermath trailer include Jax performing a saxophone solo, Liu Kang doing a disco dance, and The Joker getting hit in the back of the head with what appears to be a Batarang of some sort. Mortal Kombat 11 players will be able to check out all of the Friendships they want once the Aftermath expansion update goes live on May 26.

The addition of Friendships is no doubt exciting for longtime fans of the Mortal Kombat franchise, but there's even more free content coming in the MK11 May 26 update. Besides Friendships, Mortal Kombat 11 players will also be able to try out Stage Fatalities, which are making their debut in the game.

Of course, there's plenty of content that Mortal Kombat 11 players will have to pay for as well with the Aftermath expansion. This includes three new DLC characters in the form of Fujin, RoboCop, and Sheeva, and a brand new story mode. The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath story picks up right where the base game's story left off, so it should definitely be of interest to anyone who wants to see what happens next.

Once NetherRealm releases the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion, one has to imagine that the studio will start focusing its full attention on its next big project. What that will be remains to be seen, though one of the more persistent rumors is that Injustice 3 is next in line. Whether or not there's any truth to those rumors is up for debate, but fans of NetherRealm Studios should stay tuned for more information.
