The storage and system requirements for Mortal Kombat 1 have been revealed, giving users a better idea about the hardware required to run the game. After teasing the game for quite some time, developer NetherRealm Studios finally announced Mortal Kombat 1 a few days ago as a reboot of the franchise.
The announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 introduced the game, with bits of new information slowly being released since then. Mortal Kombat 1 is said to feature microtransactions, as the official FAQ page reveals that it will have a currency known as Dragon Krystals. Furthermore, gamers who decide to buy one of the more expensive editions of the game will get a bunch of Dragon Krystals with their purchase. Now, fans have more information regarding the hardware requirements for Mortal Kombat 1, along with how much storage space they will need to free up.
As reported by DSOGaming, fans can find the minimum and recommended system requirements for Mortal Kombat 1 on its Steam page, which confirms that players will need 100 GB of free space to install the game. Starting with the minimum specs, users will need to have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, AMD Radeon RX 470, or Intel Arc A750 to be able to run Mortal Kombat 1. At the minimum, an Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU is required to play Mortal Kombat 1, with Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X listed for the recommended specifications.
The recommended system requirements for Mortal Kombat 1 also mention that gamers will need to have at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A770. Surprisingly, both settings require just 8 GB of RAM, a sharp contrast to games like Forspoken recommending 24 or even 32 GB. Overall, the system requirements for Mortal Kombat 1 feel quite reasonable, and it’ll be interesting to see if the development team releases more information on the specs needed to run it on ultra settings.
Gamers interested in purchasing Mortal Kombat 1 should note that it offers a few different editions, with the higher-priced versions allowing for early access. The $109.99 Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will let users play from September 14 instead of September 19, along with a few other bonuses. Mortal Kombat 1 is also offering a Kollector's Edition for $249.99 which comes with a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture among other goodies.
