Aside from the many hit AAA games that are available in its library, Xbox Game Pass has highlighted plenty of indie titles that most gamers might overlook elsewhere. Next up on this list of Game Pass indies is Morkredd, an interesting-looking co-op puzzler from Aspyr Media and Norweigian developer Hyper Games that’s slated to be added to the service sometime in December.

It was revealed this week that the game will be an Xbox console exclusive, but its addition to Xbox Game Pass means that it will be playable on PC and Android devices as well as the Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Additionally, Aspyr announced that non-Game Pass subscribers will be able to purchase the game separately on the Microsoft Store and Steam for $19.99.

The word Morkredd is Norwegian for “fear of the dark,” and that is reflected in Morkredd the game. Its premise revolves around players guiding a large glowing orb through a series of dark levels and solving puzzles to advance. All the while, they must avoid shadows at all costs, as stepping into one can instantly kill a player.

The game will feature over 60 puzzles for players to take on, and while it’s designed with two-player co-op in mind, it will include single-player support that involves controlling two characters at once. That might not be the most ideal option, especially with the tricky-looking puzzles the trailer teases, but plenty of players will likely enjoy the extra challenge as they brave the darkness.

Morkredd will launch this December for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
