Red Dead Redemption 2 proved to be the second biggest entertainment launch of all time, with the Western title receiving numerous positive reviews and selling incredibly well. While PC gamers have been left waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2, the rumor mill has been consistently turning over the last few months, and now, the Australian Classification Board have delivered a classification on a new listing.

Rumours of the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been rife since the game was released. The Social Club Site had references to a PC port earlier this year and with this additional snippet of information, fans are hoping that this confirms that the game is to be released on the PC.

The listing has been classified in exactly the same way as the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The rating of MA 15+ was delivered on August 20th, yet there has been no news on a release date. The listing does not explicitly state that the rating is for the PC; however, it is common practice not to state the platform.

The new assessment of the game also coincides with the recent rebranding of the Rockstar's PC Launcher. The launcher could very well be the medium to access the game and games such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are already available on it. Adding one of the most acclaimed games of the year would surely attract more users to the game launcher, and this wouldn't be the first time Rockstar staggered a PC release of one of their major titles.

Over four months after the release of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the PC version of the game arrived. With this in mind, the delay is in keeping with Rockstar Games' strategy, and combined with the PC launchers rebranding, it may have been held back to create a greater impact in attracting fans to the launcher.

There is no concrete statement that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to the PC. Yet the moves of Rockstar with their launcher and the source code on their site has players hoping. It would certainly be odd for a major title, nevermind one of the best western games ever, to not to have a PC version. All players can do now is wait and hope for a release date in the near future.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
